No stranger to collaborations, Russian-American tennis star Maria Sharapova has teamed up with Nike to create a new Classic Cortez Premium in “Blackened Blue” and accompanying apparel.
The shoe, constructed of suede in a dark charcoal shade, features gold grommet detailing and a white midsole. Wide-wale corduroy lining in a matching charcoal grey and outsole in contrasting brown top the shoe off. The La Cortez collection, which also includes a pullover, quilted bomber jacket and leggings, was unveiled at Nordstrom NYC’s flagship opening gala earlier this week.

Nike has been releasing a handful of summer-ready sneakers this month, and the latest silhouette to receive a seasonal treatment is the retro-inspired Cortez trainer. This time around the fan-favorite sees an all-over leather material coated in a beige “Desert Ore” hue, contrasted by the shoe’s signature Swoosh in “Deep Royal Blue.” Finishing off the trainer is the heel tab in a vibrant red, as well as the jagged outsole in white with red detailing.
The seasonal take on the Nike Cortez is now available in “Desert Ore/Deep Royal Blue” over at Feature, where it retails at $70 USD.
Just in time for Halloween, Nike will release its second “Skeleton QS” Air Force 1 ‘07, this time in black, on October 25. While last year’s model featured black-on-white skeleton graphics on both shoe’s laterals and medials, this year’s update gets even spookier with white x-ray style bones.
The new style maintains the integrity of a low-cut Air Force 1 ‘07 in a “Triple Black” color blocking, but adds a glow-in-the-dark outsole. It has yet to be confirmed whether the white skeleton graphics will also glow in the dark. Detailing continues onto the insole, which features white heel bone “x-rays.”
The Nike “Skeleton QS Black” prices out at approximately $144 USD and can be purchased at afew-store.com starting October 25.
