Nike has just unveiled its latest collaboration with native New Yorker, Olivia Kim, on the all-new “No Cover” collection. The capsule includes an array of apparel, footwear and accessories that evoke the fun, playful side of New York City in the ’90s.
The range features 16 clothing items along with five classic silhouettes: Air Force 1, Air Jordan IV, Air Mowabb, Air Footscape and Air Max 98. As seen in the vibrant campaign imagery above featuring Nike athlete Megan Rapinoe, model Binx Walton and iconic director-writer John Waters, the Swoosh brand and Nordstrom‘s VP of creative projects focused on the colors pink, volt, blue, orange and red, reminiscent of Kim’s own teenage wardrobe back in the day.
In addition to the ’90s style cues, Kim also drew inspiration from designs she saw on flyers. For example, the Air Max 98 logo T-shirt, has been incorporated with a hand-drawn graphic of the sneaker, referencing vintage phone advertisements complete with the number for Nordstrom x Nike’s working hotline.
The Nike x Olivia Kim “No Cover” collection will be available on October 31 exclusively at Nordstrom x Nike (NXN) stores, NXN.com and SNKRS.com, and November 8 at global retailers.
