Heritage Italian sportswear label ellesse has presented its Fall/Winter 2020 collection and campaign, taking to the streets of Brooklyn, New York, to showcase the collection’s versatility.
ellesse has focused on three categories for FW20 — tennis, gym, and ski. For its tennis looks, the brand reaches into its founder Leonardo Servadio’s tailoring roots and serves traditional silhouettes that have been reimagined for today. As a result, tracksuits are cut looser than ellesse’s usual go-to look, while retro-styled paneling has been developed using technical fabrics in contemporary color schemes.
Gymwear is made from premium moisture-wicking fabrics that feature reflective webbing, once again combining elements of the past and present. For its ski line, ellesse offers an apt alpine theme by delivering an array of winter coats and other pieces of cold-weather gear in a variety of winterized and reflective materials. The skiwear features padding, fur, and metallic materials throughout, as well as branding that nods to ellesse’s heritage.
Rounding out the FW20 collection is its range of footwear. The brand has once more dug into the archives to revive silhouettes such as the Tanker Mid Peak, Tanker Mid Quilted, and the perfect-for-home Denso Padded slipper. The former two are now designed as high-tops that can tackle all kinds of wintery conditions, with the Peak version being made from a mixture of materials including suede, while the Quilted variant sports a padded chevron design and hiking-inspired laces.
In contrast, the Denso Padded slipper is ellesse’s foray into the world of home comfort. They come with fleece lining and a fully padded upper, but are also paired with a robust sole so that you can wear these out and about.
