ART: Marvel Unveils Official Chadwick Boseman Tribute Art

Marvel Chadwick Boseman Official Tribute Art black panther 2 potential recasting shuri king t challa Shortly after releasing its emotional tribute video for Chadwick Boseman, Marvel has now unveiled its official tribute art for the late actor.

The piece, created by Marvel Studios Head of Visual Development Ryan Meinerding, sees Boseman in and out of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. His portrayal of King T’Challa in Black Panther and a depiction of Wakanda’s ancestral plane is at the forefront of the artwork, while the image of him during his Commencement speech at Howard University in 2018 is a reminder of the important message he left for the world.

The future of the Black Panther movie franchise is currently unknown, with reportsstating that Boseman was confident he would overcome his colon cancer in time to film Black Panther 2. Marvel can choose to either find another actor to take on the role of King T’Challa — which will most likely instigate a fierce debate with fans — or follow the comic book and make T’Challa’s sister Shuri (Letitia Wright) the new Black Panther.

Black Panther is said to be an important figure in the fourth phase of the MCU, with Black Panther 2 originally slated for a May 6, 2022 release. However, with the COVID-19 pandemic and the sudden loss of Boseman, Marvel may need a little more time to re-evaluate its next step.

In case you missed it, Fortnite is paying respects to Chadwick Boseman with a new Black Panther map location.
