It seems there’s nothing the 22-year-old tennis star can’t do.
Less than one week after winning her second U.S. Open trophy, tennis champion Naomi Osaka has launched a clothing collection with Japanese-American designer Hanako Maeda of ADEAM. The 22-year-old, a longtime fashion enthusiast, reached out to Maeda to gauge her interest in a collaboration. The two hit it off, resulting in a capsule of sculpturally draped dresses and Harajuku-inspired knitwear.
Made of crisp cotton poplin, the Tokyo shirt dress is constructed with exaggerated puffed sleeves and corseted seams running from the bust to the waist. The Naomi top, also available as a dress, features a fitted waist that flares into tumbling asymmetrical drapes adorned with delicate lace. In the realm of knitwear, the Osaka top and Osaka cardigan are accented with feminine ruffles circling the back hem.
