A number of celebrities came out in support of this weekend’s March for Our Lives, including 14-year-old Millie Bobby Brown, Paul McCartney, George Clooney and more. Kanye West and Kim Kardashian joined the ranks of supporters for a surprise appearance at the Washington DC protest on March 24. The couple along with close celeb friends brought their daughter, North, for the day-long event. Later taking to social media, Kardashian noted, “What an amazing day yesterday to take my daughter to Washington DC to see our future leaders speak … I’m so happy I got to share this moment with these two. I hope North remembers this forever”
This marks a rare public appearance from the couple and their children, with West recently shunning the spotlight to work on his music in Wyoming. The newest addition to the family, Chicago West, was too young to attend the protest.
Elsewhere this weekend, an unreleased Kanye West demo dubbed “Southside Serenade” surfaced.
Last month, we shared the news that Kim Kardashian was the face of ODDA magazine‘s “Queen Be” issue, where the entrepreneur posed in Fendi alongside some very fashionable Louis Vuitton trash cans. Now, we get to share a look at the editorial that accompanies the cover shoot, lensed by Spanish DJ and model, Sita Abellan.
Kim embraces the ruffle trend fully, with her own unique take on one of the most traditionally feminine silhouettes. She sports a pastel pink Off-White™ ruffled gown with futuristic, matrix-like Prada sunglasses and Alexander Wang heels. She also rocks a gorgeous bardot-style pink ruffled minidress by Vivetta, which she pairs with some complementary thigh-high leather boots with girly bows adorning the back.
In another look, the eldest Kardashian teams a retro-inspired Pucci robe with a pink towelled turban, banana earrings and if you look closely – some glimmering golden grills. Throughout the shoot, which took place at a home in the Hollywood Hills, she also wears a standout zebra-print coat, a yellow plaid floral Miu Miu jacket and of course, those monogrammed Fendi favorites that she is spotted in on the cover. Discussing the shoot and her subject with WWD, Sita Abellan said:
“I wanted [Kim] to look like a very strong woman and at the same time, very fashionable. I didn’t want anything sexy or whatever, I just wanted her to be really confident with the clothes and feel like the strong woman that she is.”
It seems like Abellan succeeded as Kim looks both stunning, strong and at ease. Browse through the editorial images above and see the full feature in ODDA, on newsstands now.
“Polo ‘Ye’” might be returning on stage. According to a chat with G.O.O.D. music’s Teyana Taylor on Hot 97 Radio, Kanye West might be resurrecting his “Polo ‘Ye” era — his early creative golden phase during which he produced some of his best known work and was often seen wearing Ralph Lauren polos. Teyana Taylor reveals,
“Ye might’ve not been as active on the musical front in 2017 but that’s not to say he wasn’t working behind the scenes. It’s Polo Ye… Ralph Ye. Ralph Ye productions. He was so excited, we did one song where he just did the beat. He was banging on the desk and the mic was right there and I was just singing to what he was banging on the desk. Shit was crazy. He’s OD.”
Although not much is revealed in the interview about upcoming projects, recent song leaks of Kanye and Kendrick Lamar may point to new music. Fans hoping for a music revival from YEEZY might just get their wish.
