Artists Cardi B and SZA are the cover stars on The New York Times Magazine‘s new music issue. The special edition covers feature “25 Songs That Tell Us Where Music Is Going.”
Cardi’s breakout single “Bodak Yellow” takes the top spot on the list, serving as a feminist anthem and was rightfully number one on the Billboard “Hot 100” charts for three weeks last year. SZA’s “Drew Barrymore” comes in at number seven. Her breezy CTRL single was a relatable emotionally riveting hit and her first studio album went platinum. Additional tracks in the roundup include Charli XCX‘s “Out Of My Head” featuring Tove Lo and Alma and Katy Perry‘s “Chained To The Rhythm.”
