We are only a few days away from the Beautiful Game’s biggest tournament, the 2018 FIFA World Cup, and to celebrate BAPE will be releasing a special football-inspired collection. Aptly named BAPE Football Collection, the capsule is comprised of two key items, graphic tees, and a football. Over on the T-shirts, a special Ape head morphing into a football graphic can be seen alongside the label’s inception year: 1993.
The collection also includes the Color Camo Ape Head Tee which features a special black, red and blue CAMO print taking on the shape of a football’s panels. The standout item of the drop has to be the BAPE football, crafted from pentagonal and hexagonal shapes decorated with the same special black, red and blue CAMO print. A golden Ape head, “A Bathing Ape” and “Apes Together Strong 1993-2018” motifs have also been embossed on its panels.
The BAPE Football Collection will be available on Saturday, June 9 at BAPE retailers and online.
Originally introduced back in late December of 2017, BAPE has now added its signature 1ST CAMO to the Double Shark Hoodie. Since its introduction, BAPE‘s Shark Hoodie has become a highly-coveted piece, even becoming somewhat of a cult item within streetwear circles. More often than not, many fanatics of the Shark hoodie have gone on to flex by wearing multiple layers of this well-recognized piece of clothing.
Now for the summer season, BAPE has once again recreated this layered look by releasing the Double Shark Hoodie in both a yellow and green colorway of its ubiquitous 1ST CAMO. Each colorway features two iconic Shark faces on one body for double the flair. BAPE’s 1ST CAMO Double Shark Hoodie will be available on June 9 at BAPE stores around the world and online retailing for ¥39,800 JPY (approximately $362 USD).
Not long after connecting with Dover Street Market for a collaborative capsule collection, BAPE continues to roll out a new batch of covetable goods. Its Japan outpost has revealed a set of skateboard decks featuring its notable City Camo pattern. While its previous release of skateboard designs included bright pink and blue colors, the newest line embraces more neutral hues. As seen in the images above, a black/gray version is met with a tonal white iteration in BAPE’s familiar camouflage aesthetic. Not forgoing the label’s bold characteristics, striking glow-in-the-dark features are added to the bottom. The grip takes on a minimal look with the logo, while custom branded wheels can be added to the decks.
Fresh from revealing its full collaboration with artist Hebru Brantley, BAPE has now unveiled the latest BAPEX watch releases. The two new TYPE-3 models come in either silver or gold, with the metal used on the bezels, strap and dials.
The standout feature of each watch is its face, which comes in either light blue (for the silver version) or dark blue for the gold. The watch is then finished with Ape Head branding, and the phrase “Ape Shall Never Kill Ape” in red above one of the dials. The two new BAPEX watches are set to release via the BAPE web store on June 2.
