Days ahead of this year’s NBA Draft, adidas has announced that Trae Young will join its family. Averaging 27.4 points per game and 8.7 assists per game during his freshman year, the former Oklahoma Sooner led his NCAA Division I squad over the span of 32 games. He’s projected to be the next Steph Curry due to his unlimited range and joins the likes of fellow Three Stripes representatives such as James Harden, Andrew Wiggins, NBA Champion Nick “Swaggy P” Young and many others. In addition, adidas has also signed top recruit Lonnie Walker IV.
James Harden will very likely be named MVP for the 2017-18 season at the NBA Awards in the coming days. But adidas is so sure of the Beard’s crowning that it already made special Harden MVP sneakers in May before the official NBPA announcement. Now it appears that the Three Stripes didn’t just jump the gun on celebrations, it went the full mile with three celebratory Harden models.
adidas’s James Harden MVP pack includes the Rockets player’s OG Harden Vol. 2 sneaker as well as two new models, the Harden Vol. 2 LS and Harden BTE X. All three models feature a slick black, gold metallic and “Trace Royal” color scheme, a multi-color marbled outsole and gold “MVP” detailing via lace dubraes and tongue tab branding.
The adidas James Harden MVP pack will release on June 23 at adidas’s web store.
Heavily teased in recent months, the “Butter” iteration serves as a replacement for the originally-announced “Peanut Butter” colorway. A summer-ready take on the runner, the adidas YEEZY BOOST 350 V2 “Butter” features a new reversed Primeknit upper done in a tonal cream white hue. Simple “SPLY-350” text and a stripe appear on the medial side of the shoe, with a BOOST-encapsulated semi-translucent ribbed outsole rounding up the design of the shoe.
Priced at $220 USD, the YEEZY BOOST 350 V2 “Butter” is now officially set to release at select adidas retailers come June 30.
adidas Originals‘ Superstar continues to return in revamped editions. Having previously donned a “Handcrafted” iteration, the iconic silhouette now debuts a varsity letters pack that focuses on the Superstar 80s model.
Offered in two colorways of “Crystal White” and “Core Black,” this version of the Superstar features all the traditional design features such as a premium leather upper, Three Stripes branding, classic shell-toe and rubber cupsole. The highlight of the design appears at the heel, which is wrapped with chenille varsity letter-style patches that say “SUPER” on the left foot and “STAR” on the right.
Both colorways of the adidas Originals Superstar 80s “Varsity Letters” pack are available now for ¥14,000 JPY ($127 USD) each at atmos Japan.
