FASHION WATCHES:

panerai italian watches luxury paneristi 20th anniversary online fan community enthusiasts radiomir venti special edition 1020This year marks the 20th anniversary of the Paneristi, an online community of Paneraienthusiasts. To celebrate this two-decade milestone for its fans, the Italian luxury watchmaker has crafted a special edition Radiomir Venti (PAM2020), limited to just 1,020 units made.

As an anniversary release, the new timepiece turns towards its heritage for inspiration, taking design cues from the line’s models from the 1930s. The iconic square case measures in at 45mm, constructed out of AISI 316L steel, holding within it a brown sandwich sun-brushed dial with beige Super-Luminova numerals and indices shining through.

Nods to the enthusiasts’ community come in the form of “PANERISTI.COM 2000-2020” branding right beneath the golden sword hands as well as a “VENTI” inscription on the case itself, positioned just below 6 o’clock. Completing the vintage-inspired model is a beige calfskin suede strap with white stitching.

This special edition Radiomir Venti is priced at €6,500 EUR (approximately $7,680 USD). This time around, the Hong Kong imprint has chosen to work with WMT Watches (Watch Experimental Unit) for a special edition Panton watch.

The watch takes the form of a traditional dive watch but has been treated to a number of vintage details. Limited to 100 pieces, the watch incorporates a faux-”tropical” dial which gives off the impression that it has been faded from years of sunlight. The watch continues the vintage theme with a broad arrow motif printed in the middle of “HK” where the names of areas “Kowloon” and “Hong Kong” sit below. One of the more interesting parts of the watch is that the GRS team has switched out the traditional numeric date wheel with a Chinese version — a fantastic nod towards the history of the brand. The finishing touch can be seen at the bezel where bakelite material has been chosen to make up its black and white design. Powered by a Miyota automatic 821 movement, the GRS Panton watch has a domed acrylic crystal and is water-resistant up to 100 meters.

The watch is being released with an optional Aziano Vachetta-tan leather strap but also comes equipped with either a stainless steel bracelet ($645 USD) or NATO strap ($567 USD). Head over to GrowthRing Supply‘s website for more info.

The mechanical diver’s watch, famously worn by Kiyoshi Atsumi who played Tora-San in the movie Otoko wa Tsuraiyo, has been updated after 50 years while faithfully maintaining its vintage look and feel.

The iterations of the throwback Prospex are nuanced. Inspired by the dim lighting of movie theaters, the dial of the watch has been changed to black. Complementing this is the watch’s shiny steel case, which features the world’s highest grade of corrosion resistance, stamped with a motif of a dolphin with a hat and a suitcase that nods to Tora-San’s iconic attire. Manufactured by Shizukuishi Luxury Watch Studio, the model is equipped with a mechanical 8L35 movement. Both “BEAMS JAPAN” and “Otoko wa Tsuraiyo” branding have also been added to the piece, while its reinforced rubber watch strap round up the details of the vintage-inspired redesign. The watch also comes with a unique serial number ranging from “001/300” to “300/300” as a nod to its limited production run.

BEAMS and SEIKO’s redesigned 1965 Prospex is currently available for pre-order on BEAMS’ website for $5,011 USD with a limited run of just 300 units.
