Although LeBron James‘ championship-clinching play in Game 6 of the 2020 NBA Finals was rightfully the talk of the sporting world, the Nike LeBron 18 “Sisterhood” on his feet garnered a great deal of attention as well. Now, the shoes the King clinched his fourth Larry O’Brien trophy in are set for a full retail release.
Dressed from collar to outsole in a tone that Nike Basketball has dubbed “Bright Mango,” the “Sisterhood” presents a look that seems somewhat Los Angeles Lakers-inspired but veers away from being a direct uniform homage. Apart from its monochromatic look, key details include translucent ovals on the tongue that show LeBron’s lion logo, a Nike Air hit and the King’s signature. If you peer into the insoles, you’ll also see a mosaic-style print that blends black, white and blue. This “Sisterhood” pattern has also graced a LeBron Soldier 14 and the insole of an Air Jordan 1 Mid.
From a material standpoint, the “Sisterhood” features a textured knit upper with thick woven lines denoting the placement of the eyestay anchors. This flexible forefoot works in tandem with a molded heel for fit and support, while midsoles combine Zoom Air in the forefoot with Air Max in the heel for a soft-yet-responsive cushioning setup.
The Nike LeBron 18 “Sisterhood” is set to release on Nike SNKRS China come October 23, and will retail for $200 USD. A full global release will likely occur in the following weeks.Pharrell and adidas Originals have readied three new NMD Hu “Human Race” sneakers. After spending several seasons spotlighting the NMD Hu Trail — the OG Hu’s beefed-up cousin — the two are now back to the original collaborative NMDmodel and are using special linguistic detailing to highlight its inclusive nature.
Three styles are available — a blue-green iteration with gray and mint embellishments, a gray pair with bright red and sandy tan accents and a white pair that uses mint and yellow ornamentation. Each also features a bold embroidered text hit on its forefoot: the first looks to Korean letters while the second and third pairs both feature Chinese characters. When translated to English, each reads “Human Race.” From a build standpoint, all three use engineered mesh for the upper, boast a full-length BOOST midsole and are completed by special insoles plus multiple lace options.
All three Pharrell x adidas NMD Hu “Human Race” colorways are set to release on October 25. The blue-green pair will be available globally through the adidas webstore, while the gray pair is exclusive to the CONFIRMED app in North America and the white pair will only be available in the Asia-Pacific region. The MSRP for each is set at $220 USD.Standing out amongst this year’s celebrations for the 30th-anniversary of the Air Jordan 5, Jordan Brand has put together a “What The” colorway for the beloved footwear model. Paying respects to past designs, the mash-up take draws elements from eight separate colorways. The Air Jordan 5 “What The” includes details from the “Tokyo,” “Shanghai,” “Raging Bull,” “Bel-Air,” “Laser,” “Green Bean,” “Army Olive” and “Quai 54” looks.
Coming through with yellow and red mismatched uppers, the heels come marked with a Kanji character and medallion embroidery take from the “Tokyo” and “Shanghai” colorways. While the graphic linings are taken from the Air Jordan 5 “Bel-Air” and “Laser,” and 3M reflective tongues come from the “Laser” and “Green Bean.” Elevating the shoe are sole units drawn from the bottom of the “Bel-Air” and “Quai 54.”
Priced at $220 USD, the Air Jordan 5 Retro “What The” is set to release November 7.Slam Jam and Nike Sportswear are set to release their second Dunk Highcollaboration of October 2020: the “Clear Black.” Following up the “Light Gray” pair that dropped at the top of the month, the “Clear Black” plays with both tone and texture — and although it may appear simple at first glance, it’s rife with thoughtful details.
Uppers blend a crisp white leather base with supple black suede overlays, and waste no time delving into dashing details. Midfoot Swooshes are encased in a smoky black plastic sheath that reaches all the way to the heel before crescendoing in an ever-so-slightly elongated tab with an embossed Slam Jam graphic. Two-tone laces are black on one side and white on the other, providing an optical illusion of sorts that makes the shoe appear double-laced.
Nike branding on each tongue tag is flipped upside down, making for an inverted nod to 2019’s popular “Class of ‘77” Blazer collaboration, and insoles offer a graphic print. A single line of perforations makes its way across each quarter panel, and also replaces the standard perforated assemblage on the toebox. Down below, icy blue midsoles and black outsoles round off the look.
The Slam Jam x Nike Dunk High “Clear Black” is set to release on Nike SNKRS come October 30 and will retail for $120 USD.In its short time on the market Jordan Brand‘s Air Jordan 35 has already proved itself an apt canvas for storytelling, and now a new “Dynasties” makeup is telling the tale of Beijing’s Forbidden City. Crafted in tribute to the 600th anniversary of the Ming Dynasty landmark’s completion, the “Dynasties” combines a bold color scheme with intricate detailing.
Yellow takes prime position on the upper, covering the swooping Air Jordan 12-esque lateral and medial overlays, midfoot’s Flightwire netting and the heel piece. This warm tone and the tiled patterns that accompany it are an acknowledgement of the palace’s roofs. Meanwhile, iridescent pieces connect the aforementioned forefoot and heel overlays, while black is used for contrast on the toebox, under the Flightwire and on the Air Jordan 5-inspired tongue and collar.
Chinese characters appear behind the red Jumpman on the tongue, with further pops of red appearing on the top two eyestays, tongue/heel tabs and forefoot branding. A black Eclipse Plate 2.0 splits the yellow midsole, working with the heel and forefoot’s Zoom Air cushioning setup to provide explosive on-court performance. Icy jade outsoles with a final Jumpman graphic complete the look. This isn’t the first time Jordan Brand has paid homage to the Forbidden City either: August saw the release of an Air Jordan 7 “China” that was swathed in traditional Chinese artwork.
The Air Jordan 35 “Dynasties” will release exclusively on Nike SNKRS China come October 22, and is priced at ¥1,499 CNY (approximately $225 USD).
