Fresh off a collaboration with Stüssy, No Vacancy Inn co-founder and voting turnout proponent Tremaine Emory has prepped a new range of wearables for his Denim Tears imprint. “Monochromatic” comprises contrasting white prints across a range of cozy black garments, just in time for autumn.
Featuring inverted single-tone images of Jesus Christ — a rework of Emory’s “Crown of Cotton” design — and the Virgin Mary, the capsule comprises a selection of hoodies, pullovers, tees and sweatpants, all laden with the high-contrast graphics and Denim Tears’ floral branding. The garments are executed in classic, relaxed cuts and stripped of unnecessary detailing so as to emphasize the “Monochromatic” imagery, which Emory explains was inspired by the works of comic book icon Frank Miller.

Most recently, Denim Tears contributed to Dover Street Market and Sky High Farms’ charitable food-sourcing endeavor.
