Jordan Brand is set to bring back the Air Jordan 1 “Metallic Purple” in women’s sizes as part of its Summer 2021 retro lineup. An OG colorway that debuted in 1985-1986 as part of the AJ1’s initial run, the “Metallic Purple” was last seen in 2009 as part of a region-exclusive four pack that also included the original “Metallic Green,” “Metallic Orange” and “Metallic Red” makeups. Now the “Metallic Purple” is back for the first time in over a decade, and we’ve received an on-foot look thanks to YankeeKicks. 

Also dubbed the “Court Purple,” this Air Jordan 1 features an upper constructed of premium white tumbled leather. Its “Metallic Purple” moniker is earned with high-gloss purple patent leather on the collar and Swooshes. More purple details also appear on the lateral collar flap’s ball-and-wings logo, the tongue’s Jumpman tag, the collar lining and the outsole. Unlike its ‘09 predecessor, this makeup of the “Metallic Purple” is bereft of heel Jumpman branding — making for a true-to-the-original style.

Look for the Air Jordan 1 “Metallic Purple” to release on June 3 for $170 USD, pending official confirmation from Nike.The return of the low-profile sneaker favored by football-centric sub-cultures, casuals, motorsport fans, and those in the know is among us, and getting a slice of the action is Onitsuka Tiger. Designed under the creative direction of Andrea Pompilio, the Japanese footwear label has announced the launch of its ACROMOUNT series — a range of sneakers indebted to the styles of the ’70s that are undoubtedly playing into the emerging low-profile resurgence we’re seeing throughout the footwear industry as of late.

The ACROMOUNT appears in both low-top and mid-cut forms, as well as a knitted low version to boot. For the standard low, Onitsuka Tigers offers a bevy of colorways that reflect the archives this sneaker design came from, appearing in classics such as white with black and gum details as well as bolder offerings in the form of blue with orange or red with green. The ACROMOUNT low and mid are both made using a mixture of suede and close-woven fabric, while leather has been used for the classic striped branding that wraps from the sidewall and over the mid-panel to the heel and back around.

There are draws from track and field running shoes of the ’70s throughout the low’s design, while the mid is more reminiscent of motorsport racing boots that drivers would wear in Formula 1. Either way, the ACROMOUNT comes fitted with a ripped and ridged sole unit that’s thin at the toe but bulky in the middle — almost becoming part of the shoe’s upper itself. Furthermore, the sole wraps around the heel just like a traditional driving shoe.

The golf-themed design shows off a relaxed vibe as if you were walking on grass.

The Reef x BEAMS GOLF Mulligan Shower Sandals’ construction features a golf ball design on the heel that provides cushioning, and a medallion on the instep. The footbed of the slides is manufactured with a plastic rubber outsole and the rubber strap material is made of polyurethane. Included with the slides is a set of custom golf tees that showcase both the Reef and BEAMS GOLF brand logos. The sandals also come in a pouch that can be utilized for other functions, such as storing extra clothes or carrying dirty golf shoes.

Priced at ¥7,480 JPY (approximately $68 USD), the Bespoke Mulligan Shower Sandals are available for pre-order BEAMS’ website.If you’re looking for Nike (NYSE:NKE -2.85%) sneakers that sport modern and conceptual-inspired aesthetics, then Nike‘s N. 354 sub-label has got you covered. For this Swoosh family, one of its strongest silhouettes to-date has been the Daybreak Type — a fresh take on the original Daybreak — which has just surfaced in a brand new colorway that merges bright accents with earthy accents.

Between the its neutral-toned backdrops and amalgamation of lively accents and earth-toned overlays, this particular pair almost evokes emotions of Tom Sachs‘ highly sought after Mars Yard 2.0 shoe. Mesh uppers allow a clean white tone to do most of the talking, and come neighbored by vivid red Swooshes and Nike N. 354branding atop the tongues and heel tabs. Seated next to these, muted beige browns spill onto the forefoot and heel overlays — the latter of which slightly bleeds onto the midsoles — while a dark brown panel is positioned towards the mid-foot. Tongues are splashed with a vanilla-like hue for an additional sprinkle of contrasting.

Bottom sections proceed with grayscale allure by being fashioned with angelic midsoles and black waffle treading.

While these have sold out in Asia, it’s likely that they will drop stateside via Nike and select retailers for the usual $90 USD.Since arriving on the footwear scene back in December 2019, the adidas(XETRA:ADS.DE -2.09%) YEEZY 500 High is a silhouette whose appearances have been rather occasional. However, 2021 seems as though that narrative will change because after dropping in “Mist Slate” and “Shale Warm” color schemes earlier this year, the model is returning to the stage in a cool “Frosted Blue” palette.

Unlike its predecessors which more so leaned on neutral and/or earthy tones to decorate its upper, this variation takes a bold departure and opts for a more vivid presentation. Puffed up Neoprene uppers peek out with their royal blue complexions and come balanced out with suede overlays and mudguards that are flooded with its titular shading. Elsewhere on the base, the laces, throat and interior liners complement with brighter beige pigmentation. Another detail to point out here is that the lacing system has been switched back to the toggle pull system just like its “Tyrian” sibling.

AdiPrene-cushioned sole units down below continue the neutral accenting theme and come prepared with a light beige coat.

According to YEEZY MAFIA, this pair will see a release in April 2021 and retail for the traditional $220 USD.After more than three decades on the market, Nike (NYSE:NKE -2.91%) ‘s Air Max 90has become a true Swoosh staple. However, just because the Tinker Hatfield-designed classic is now a cornerstone of each and every Nike Sportswear season doesn’t mean it’s done reinventing itself — and this ethos is espoused on its new “Future Is Clear” colorway. 

Iridescent patterns and translucent materials are front and center. The former is prominent on the mudguard and toe bumper, while the latter is used on the toebox, throat and collar. There’s also a healthy dose of rich jade, most notably on the heel and outsole. Further details arrive via sandy tan suede midfoot Swooshes and tongue badges. Bone-colored plastics are present on the midfoot window and eyestays to match the neutral-toned midsole. Thin rope laces with a translucent Swoosh debure tie the look together.

The Nike Air Max 90 “Future Is Clear” will release via Nike SNKRS France on March 18, and is priced at $140 USD. A US release will likely follow in the coming weeks.
