Jordan Brand has looked through its archives and dusted off one of its classic colorways. The retro Air Jordan 6 “Midnight Navy,” originally released in the year 2000, is making its way back.
The shoe, with its bulky hi-top mold, features smooth eggshell-toned leather uppers complemented by a handful of contrasting details. Starting at the top of the shoe is a black tongue, subtly embossed with “Air Jordan” branding, followed by an embroidered Jumpman logo placed directly below it and on the heel. The rest of the uppers are kept tonal in a light cream shade, while other details like perforations, geometric panels and a two-toned midsole — with “Midnight Navy” and semi-translucent highlights — round off the shoe’s vintage design.
The Air Jordan 6 “Midnight Navy” will be available on November 26 on Nike’s websitefor $190 USD.Just yesterday, Travis Scott showed off a new pair of Air Jordan 6 that he gifted to his toddler daughter Stormi, but now we get to see an early look at the shoe in its regular size.
The colorway is being called “British Khaki,” and it comes with a handful of intricate details that put a bold spin on the classic AJ6. One of the shoe’s most distinctive traits is the pair of pouches that appear on the side of the shoe’s collars. On the lateral side is a small pocket with a brass clip-on button, while the medial side features a pouch with zippers.
Most of the shoe is constructed in light brown suede, complemented by semi-translucent rubber overlays that appear along the tongue, heel and midsole. Other details like “Cactus Jack” branding on the heel of the right foot, subtle perforations along the body and an understated two-toned midsole round off the shoe’s design.
The Travis Scott x Air Jordan 6 “British Khaki” is expected to release this spring for $250 USD.Throughout the course of 2021 Jordan Brand will be unleashing a substantial amount of striking retro releases, and one of the more anticipated offerings that’s set to arrive here in the Spring semester is the Air Jordan 6 “Carmine”. The last time this colorway was launched into the market was back in 2014, but in celebration of the silhouette’s 30th anniversary, the Jumpman family is reviving it with “Nike Air” branding — a more favored design element amongst sneaker aficionados that hasn’t been applied to the makeup since 1991.
Designed by the great Tinker Hatfield and sported by Michael Jordan on many occasions throughout his 1991-1992 NBA season, this installment is outfitted with a bold and bright scheme that is directly reflective of the Chicago Bulls. Crafted with its OG shape, the high-cut kicks are executed with bright white leathers overlays while bold titular hues stain the nubuck fabric that rests underneath, lace toggles as well as the heightened region of the throat which is given a silky satin finish. Ventilated holes also poke out through the mid-foot and collars to break up the smooth textures.
Slivers of black accents are also called upon to take over the two-window tongues, sock liners and the heel counter. Branding is split between the Jordan insignia that is embroidered onto the throat, as well as on on the lower heels which spells out the aforementioned “Nike Air” hit in “Carmine” red.
Down under, the midsole unit color-blocks between white backdrops and an overlapping black mold, and comes mated with a translucent outsole.
These are scheduled to hit Nike SNKRS and select retailers on February 13, 2021 for $200 USD.Taking inspiration from playing cards, Jordan Brand has now put together the Air Jordan 1 Low “Spades.”
Marked by details of a high hand, the shoe features a premium white leather base accented by a red debossed paisley print on the toe cap and side panels. Regal gold is found on the Swooshes, Spade Jumpman tongue tags and “K”/”Q” embroidery on the lateral sides. Additional branding on the King-Queen suited sneakers include Jumpman printed red insoles and Wings embroidered at the rear. Elevating the shoe is an off white colored midsole paired with a red rubber outsole.
Priced at $110 USD, the Air Jordan 1 Low “Spades” is set to release in the coming weeks. When looking at the market landscape of basketball kicks, few have been gaining the recognition both on the hardwood and on the shelves as the Air Jordan 35. And after being unveiled in a new PE colorway for Jayson Tatum, the silhouette is now being fashioned with a minimal “Fire Red” makeover.
As indicated by its moniker, this court-ready iteration channels a throwback motif that is often associated with retro styles of the Air Jordan 3, Air Jordan 4 and Air Jordan 5. Breathable mesh upper builds, along with its accompanying leather overlays are fully drenched in white, and come prepared with titular notes sprinkled onto the mid-foot cables, sock liners and the various branded hits such as the Jumpman logos on the tongues and ankles and Nike Air hits on the heel tabs. Furthermore, the backdrops of the tongues and rear tabs are flooded with a muted grey.
As you transition downward, one will notice that the aggressive Eclipse plate is also coated in “Fire Red” and comes paired with all-white midsoles and outsoles.
For hoopers looking to add these to their collection, note that Nike Japan just launched them for ¥20,900 (approx. $196 USD).Jordan Brand team member and Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum has had a plethora of PE releases with inspirations ranging from his young son Deuce’s love of the zoo to his multiple tattoos, but his latest PE, the Air Jordan 35 “Women in Power,” appears to be a salute to his mother Brandy Cole. Cole and Tatum are inseparable — he even has her face inked on his leg — so it seems only fitting that she’d serve as inspiration for one of his shoes.
Uppers are awash in a boisterous medley of bright colors. Sky blue appears on the lateral and medial side plus the collar, a rich red graces throats and Air Jordan 5-esque tongues and a neon green is used on the midfoot’s Flightwire as well as the toebox and tongue tabs. Purple gets into the mix as well, appearing in small doses on the midfoot and below the throat. In the former location, it’s embellished with a star and a “98” graphic, nodding to Tatum’s year of birth. In the latter, it features “Women In Power” text split between the left and right foot.
A mix of patent leather and synthetics across the upper supply material contrast, and the left tongue swaps out its standard Jumpman graphic for Tatum’s “JT” PE logo. The AJ35’s signature Flightplate 2.0 is done up in green and holds black Zoom Air bags in the heel and forefoot alike. Tri-color heel tags and “FEARLESS” insole hits serve up a little extra branding, and a combo of white midsoles/blue outsoles rounds off the look.
An official release date has yet to be announced, but Jayson Tatum’s Air Jordan 35 “Women in Power” PE will likely hit retailers later this year for $180 USD.
