FUBU, one of the most respected hip-hop clothing lines of the ’90s, announces a collaboration with PUMA dubbed the “Suede 50 Pack.” The brand which was originally created by friends and entrepreneurs Daymond John, Keith Perrin, J. Alexander Martin and Carl Brown was worn by the likes of LL Cool J, Da Brat and more.
25 years after its 1992 launch, FUBU is still regarded as one of the brands that first fused hip-hop with streetwear. This collaboration marks the instrumental role that the line played which ultimately lead to the current state of sneakers and sportswear.
The forthcoming collection features the FUBU x PUMA Suede Classic sneaker which sees a black velour upper. Additional detailing includes red velour piping on the black Formstripe paired with a red outsole and gold accents. Another part of the collection pays tribute to FUBU’s iconic tracksuits — the women’s T7 Track Jacket and the T7 Track Pants. The jacket comes in black french terry with a red stripe on the sides, and a co-branded, satin twill appliqué on the back. Last in the women’s range is the Baby Tee which includes branding in bright red with gold and black detailing.
