Blending both sports and music into fashion, Nike has teamed up with hip-hop artist Dellafuente and Spanish brand LA TI GO on a football-inspired track suit. The two piece set — comprised of a jacket and a set of pants — is crafted from Nike’s Dri-FIT technology, offering up breathability and comfort. Designed in a classic black and white colorway, the pieces include Dellafuente F.C.’s badge containing the Islamic moon and the Jewish star of David — incorporating the values, unison and culture of the club.
Wanting to highlight and transmit the concept of “coexistence of cultures,” Dellafuente F.C. decided to shoot the look at the remains of the Arab wall in Madrid. Head over to Dellafuente F.C.’s official site for more details and look for a restock soon.
Starting off the new year right, BAPE recently unveiled a cold weather ready face mask inspired by its signature Shark Hoodie.
Continuing its recent plays on the popular design, the Japanese mainstay created a face mask and hood combo centered around the unique full-zip closure found on its classic hoodie. The new mask hood accessory features an inner face shield, extended neck cover with adjustable straps to combat frigid temperatures accented by BAPE’s iconic shark, and collegiate “WGM” appliqués.
Priced at $175 USD, the Shark Hoodie Face Mask is set to release January 6 on bape.com and at BAPE locations worldwide.
After hosting A$AP Rocky’s AWGE Bodega last year, Selfridges has now announced a new pop-up project in its London flagship. The new project sees Michèle Lamy launch a boxing-themed installation in collaboration with New York’s Overthrow Boxing Club located in the store’s Corner Shop space, with the pop-up taking place in two parts during January and February 2018.
The first part of “Lamyland” will see Lamy work with collaborators including Stephen Jones, Nike and Rick Owens on an exclusive collection that will include everything from activewear and boxing equipment to jewellery, fragrance and art. Elsewhere, the pop-up also will feature special-edition drops from brands including Off-White™, sacai and Gareth Pugh during its three month run. The space is also set to include a small sparring ring.
Part two of Lamyland — which will begin in February — will see the space expand to include a fully-functioning boxing gym in Selfridges’ Ultralounge. This stage will also feature an open training schedule, as well as workshops and events hosted by Lamy and her friends and collaborators.
The Lamyland pop-up from Michèle Lamy and Selfridges will open at London store on January 4 and will run for three months. In other fashion news, take a look at Gosha Rubchinskiy’s Spring/Summer 2018 lookbook.
Dr. Martens has teamed up with the Tate Britain on a Spring/Summer 2018 collection that features the artwork of renowned English Romanticist painter Joseph Mallord William Turner (JMW Turner).
Two of Turner’s most celebrated works of art — The Decline of the Carthaginian Empire (c. 1817) and Fishermen at Sea (c. 1796) — are printed on Dr. Marten’s classic 8-eye Pascal boot, which is constructed of a crackled Cristal suede leather that gives the effect of a real painted canvas. Each pair of boots comes packaged in a bespoke box that includes one of Turner’s famous watercolors and an in-box booklet. Also part of the range is a small leather backpack, an 11-inch leather satchel and a print T-shirt featuring Turner’s artwork.
The Dr. Martens x Tate Britain JMW Turner collection is available now in-store and online at Dr. Marten’s web store. For more art news, check out JR’s “GIANTS” solo exhibit at London’s Lazinc Gallery.
