Last month, RM Sotheby’s presented a 1989 Mercedes-Benz 560 SEC AMG 6.0 as a part of its upcoming Youngtimer Collection, now returning with another iteration of the iconic wide-body ride, a 1991 Mercedes-Benz 560 SEL 6.0 AMG donning a beastly 32v DOHC “Hammer” engine.
The new listing comes in a stunning Blue-Black metallic paint with tonal Black leather interior, fronting a variety of rare European-spec AMG features throughout. Offered up in immaculate condition with roughly 108,000 kilometers clocked, what makes this specific wide-body unique is its upgraded engine, which converted an original AMG V8 into a 32v DOHC “Hammer.” When introduced, these engine-rocking vehicles were the first four-door rides to break the 300km/h barrier, producing a staggering 375 brake horsepower that effectually pushed its chassis to the limits.
You can check out the piece of automotive history above. If you’re interested in purchasing it for yourself, RM Sotheby’s will be auctioning it off in the near future with an expected sale price between €100.000 and €140.000 EUR (approximately $112,000 USD to $157,000 USD).
Off-White™ has already delivered seasonal capsules to its own Jakarta outpost and long-running Italian retailer GENTE ROMA, and now London’s Harrods is getting in on the action. Just in time for the warming weather, the store has introduced a special capsule of reflective Off-White™ items.
Alongside the graphic-rich Spring/Summer 2019 mainline offerings, Harrods offers shoppers a brief array of exclusive grey-on-black goods emblazoned with glistening branding. Executed in spaced-out stripes, Virgil Abloh‘s signature “X” branding and winged “OFF” logo grace a black denim jacket, hoodie, sweatpants and T-shirt, offering a subtle contrast to the muted gear.
Of course, the main attraction is the reflective finish that informs each graphic, only revealed when properly hit by light. A matching Industrial Belt completes the set, with the usual text set atop a gleaming metallic silver base.
Shop the exclusive reflective Off-White™ items on Harrods’ site and in-store.
