Ralph Lauren has reintroduced its Polo Sport Denim and Polo Sport Silver collections featuring both reissued and reimagined pieces. For Spring/Summer 2019 Polo Sport, originally launched in 1992, marked the first time a luxury fashion group created a functional, stylish line of sportswear that was both wearable amongst a modern wardrobe as well as in the gym. The Denim and Silver collections remain iconic drops from the streetwear culture that dominated the ’90s. The Polo Sport Denim capsule for women and men features a classic cap, dungaree jacket and utility jeans all made of 100 percent cotton denim. The lookbook stars three modern families who define what family means today: actress and singer Soko The Cat and her family; girlfriend Stella and child, Indigo Blu, rapper/presenter Poet and his girlfriend Yas and twins Zion and Khalifa and Lucia Luciano, one half of Berlin gender-inclusive DJ duo Hoe_mies, and her sister Cecilia.
The new collections feature original trims and branding with contemporary updates. Each piece adopts a more up-to-date Polo Sport aesthetic suited to the busy, stylish woman. The Polo Silver Capsule includes outerwear, pants and accessories. The Silver Jacket and fanny-pack are reissued while the windbreaker, vest, shell pants and hats are slightly updated colorways with modern construction. The series also includes repurposed design motifs featuring bold graphics in a silver, red, white and blue color scheme.
Both capsule collections are available at the end of May 2019 on the Polo App and website as well as select Ralph Lauren retailers worldwide.
