After teasing a custom-fabricated kitchen knife — resembling a Zaku‘s Heat Hawk blade from the Gundam series anime — last year, Amenoma has now released the batch of colorful kitchen blades.
Made from forged steel in Miki City, located in Japan’s Hyogo Prefecture, the blades boasts superior durability and can double as an outdoor tool. There are three versions including the standard model in green, down to the premium version which sees a special 8-layer laminated steel blade that has been dyed black on a crimson body. While this is not an officially licensed product, it would make for the perfect gift for the chef who’s also a Gundam fanatic.
The Amenoma GUSTAV KG-06 series of kitchen knives are priced between ¥39,000 JPY and ¥48,000 JPY (approximately $360 USD and $445 USD) and can be found over at miki-japan.com.
The Prince Estate expands on the availability of Prince’s coveted “Cloud” guitar with the release of both a blue and white version on prince.com. In the past, Prince’s signature guitar was only available to Paisley Park visitors, but now the Schecter replica can now be purchased online.
Prince stumbled on a uniquely-shaped bass guitar in the late ’70s while browsing for a guitar with his friend, and first bassist, André Cymone. The special shape along with the classical details led him to ask luthier Dave Rusan to create his own guitar version of the bass — in which only four copies of the white “Cloud” guitar were ever made. As Schecter was the guitar company Prince would call to repair, modify and replicate his guitar in-between touring and recording, it was only natural that the guitar maker and the Prince Estate decided to offer up such an iconic instrument to the fans.
Available in a blue or white version, the guitar features a mahogany body and a 3pc maple neck with Prince’s Love Symbols as inlays. The guitar also runs an EMG 81 bridge pickup and an EMG SA neck pickup. Priced at $1,750 USD, both “Cloud” guitars are available for order now where it comes with a custom purple hard case with a custom purple plush interior. Expect the guitars to ship later this year in November.
