Last summer I was feeling a bit experimental so I decided to purchase something I had on my wishlist for months: a piece by Briana Shaneè Wilson‘s fashion brand MATTE. I ended up pulling the trigger on a stunning see-through Lace Full Bodysuit which I wore for my birthday festivities in New Orleans. After purchasing this piece I vowed that I’d buy another piece from the cult line when I was absolutely ready.
Since festival season is gearing up soon, I usually purchase a few head-turning items that I can wear more than once. WHY IT’S WORTH THE HYPE: I’m an experimental shopper, and I like to put my money towards emerging designers when I can afford to. After having a debate in my head of whether or not I needed this piece, I decided I do. Not only do I love bodysuits, but I also love pieces that are skintight and can be worn in a variety of ways.
This one-piece features see-through accents and unlike the similar bodysuit, it doesn’t come with a zipper. My favorite part of it is the fact that since I’m a bit on the taller side, it would be ideal for pairing with jeans or shorts. Warm weather is on the horizon, so at the moment, I’ve been brainstorming attire ideal for festivals, nights out with my friends and my summer travels. I imagine since this is black (it also comes in red) that it’d look great with a pair of old Céline heels I recently purchased or even Aleali May’s Air Jordan 1 “Viotech” sneakers which I’ve been wearing nonstop.
