After debuting the collection at London Fashion Week: Men’s last year, UK designer Liam Hodges has now released the accompanying campaign imagery for his Spring/Summer 2019 collection. The campaign takes inspiration from Hodges’ visit to Las Vegas, particularly the “boundless opulence” of the city, with images of models overlaying images taken by Hodges on that visit.
The campaign’s aesthetic is designed to look like faded billboards, a nod to “Hollywood stars attempting to win back their luck back on the strip.” Another influence referenced through the collection and the campaign imagery is the 2013 novel The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt.
Speaking about the influences behind the collection, Liam Hodges added that “everyone I know is worried about the future, no one I know wants to be ordinary. We’re always competing against this hyperreal version of ourselves.” Take a look at the “Slick Trash” collection in the gallery above, and expect Liam Hodges’ Spring/Summer 2019 capsule to hit select retailers on March 1.
Putting aside the futuristic designs of the lauded Cloudbust Sneaker and Tech Sandals, Prada recently dropped a pair of penny loafers embellished with style-clashing details.
Maintaining the look of the traditional gentlemen’s footwear, this iteration boasts a moc toe silhouette and penny slots on the tongues. The slip-ons feature black calf leather uppers while bold blue and white “PRADA” motifs appear on the lateral sides, donning the pair with an unorthodox aesthetic. Finalizing the design are the brown suede inner linings and the golden brandings emblazoned on the footbeds.
With a retail price set at $690 USD, these logo-appliquéd Prada Penny Loafers are currently available for purchase at select stockists like LUISAVIAROMA.
