The 11th installment of the annual Record Store Day, happening worldwide this April 13, just unveiled the selection of special releases dropping this year. Curating records from the “Starman” David Bowie to Dr. Dre, Jack White to the late XXXTentacion and Weezer to the Into the Spiderverse soundtrack, 2019’s catalog looks to be even more expansive than ever before.
The 2010s saw the comeback of vinyl with sales hitting a record high in 2017, topped by the 50th-anniversary reissue of The Beatles’ iconic Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band project. In the following year, sales were estimated at 9.8 million and the analog format is expected to continue its boom.
