FRESH KICKS: AIR JORDAN / ADIDAS NMD / KYRIE 3 / PUMA

Union Los Angeles has just unveiled images of its rendition on the iconic Air Jordan 1 silhouette called the “Gold Top 3.” A luxurious riff on a previous Jordan Brand AJ1 “Top 3” release, the hoops throwback silhouette, this time, features a patent leather-constructed upper with alternating hits of gold, black and white making its way throughout the shoe.
Although price has yet to be confirmed, the Air Jordan 1 “Gold Top 3” will make is debut in limited quantities this weekend at ComplexCon. Speaking of the Air Jordan 1, The Shoe Surgeon is dropping a special “eBay” version of the famed sneaker.

A few weeks after revealing the NMD_R1 Primeknit “Zebra,” sportswear giant adidas keeps the focus on delivering unique, unorthodox versions of the popular NMD_R1 Primeknit style.
Introduced as a “disruptive new take on the modern classic footwear silhouette,” the new “Color Static” design takes inspirational cues from “disrupted TV images,” hence its name. As you can see, the exterior closely resembles an incredibly-scrambled, fuzzy old-school television screen.
Staying true to previous models, this latest NMD_R1 Primeknit features a BOOST midsole, a rubber outsole, welded TPU lace eyelets, custom heel tab and the signature Primeknit construction. Outside of the exterior presentation, adidas didn’t experiment too much with the original NMD_R1 Primeknit build.

Last year, Kanye West unveiled a new adidas Originals YEEZY BOOST 350 V2 “Moonrock” during his YEEZY Season 4 presentation. This time around, the @theyeezymafia have released mockups of the iteration. The conceptual photos reveal distinct “SPLY-350” lettering on the side panels that we’ve never seen on any ‘Ye silhouette before. Firstly, it’s rendered in a calligraphic typeface as opposed to the more digital-inspired version that normally embellishes the 350 V2. Secondly, the teal lettering isn’t reversed. To top it all off, the sneaker is wrapped in a much darker “Moonrock” hue coupled with a checkered motif on the uppers.

Since his departure from the Cleveland Cavaliers, Kyrie Irving has shared a few Celtics-inspired PE editions of his Nike Kyrie 3 silhouette. This time around, “Uncle Drew” ditches the legendary green and digs into the Nike SB archives with a new PE. Irving’s latest sneaker showcase receives inspiration from the “Raygun” colorway of the Nike SB Dunk Low. Coming full circle, the Dunk’s original design stems from a fictional basketball team dubbed the Roswell Rayguns. The fake team was used to announce Vince Carter’s signing with Nike in which he went under the character of “Dr. Funk.”
The Kyrie 3’s take on the colorway welcomes the same black, orange and yellow coloring blocking in addition to the Raygun logo placed on the lateral side of its heel. Contrasting black and white coloring is placed on its sole unit while its traction pods match the upper. This iteration of the Nike Kyrie 3 follows its “Bruce Lee” and “Kyrache Light” which can lead followers to believe that a wider release is possible.

With only two more days until its release date, PUMA has unveiled more photos from the iconic 50th anniversary PUMA Suede pack. Launching in black and red options, the silhouette celebrates 50 years of being a style icon. With its instantly recognizable design, which is comprised of a suede upper and white sole, the Suede collection will also re-release in a Made in Japan Collectors Pack.
Kicking off celebrations of the silhouette, the B-Boy Pack will be available on November 4 at select PUMA retailers and puma.com for NT$2980 TWD (approximately $99 USD). Stay tuned for more collab announcements made by the footwear brand.
