Chevrolet has unveiled the 2019 Corvette ZR1, the brand’s most anticipated vehicle in a while. According to Chevrolet, its the manufacturer’s fastest and most powerful Corvette to date, as it features a supercharged 6.2-liter LT5 V8 engine producing 755 horsepower and 715 pounds of torque. It can be paired to either a seven-speed manual or an optional eight-speed automatic transmission and reach a top speed of 210 mph.
The supercar is equipped with a front fascia and ”downforce-enhancing front underwing” to reach such speeds — enabling the ZR1 to produce 70% more downforce than the Z06’s base aero package. The optional ZTK Performance Package provides a front splitter and adjustable “High Wing” for 950 lbs of downforce, as well as Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 summer tires, chassis modifications and a Magnetic Ride Control system for prestige cornering grip.
Chevrolet’s Sebring Orange Design Package includes an orange exterior with the color spread among the seat belts and contrasting stitching with orange accents throughout. The 2019 Corvette ZR1 will go on sale next spring and pricing will be announced closer to launch.
