Director David Leitch hot off the tracks of Deadpool 2 and already with an upcoming Fast and Furious spin-off to helm, will also be tapped to remake a ’70s kung-fu classic. Leitch has been described as being in “early talks” to direct the remake of Enter the Dragon, originally starring the legendary Bruce Lee and released in 1973, the same year as Lee’s death.
Warner Bros. has been interested in reviving this classic for a while now, having tapped Spike Lee and Brett Ratner to develop their own iterations for a remake. This announcement follows the 45th anniversary of Lee’s death on July 20.
Batman has had many forms in film and TV, but perhaps the best example of the full character came from ‘90s cartoon series Batman: The Animated Series. San Diego Comic-Con was where a full remaster in 1080p HD was announced and that it’d be available sooner rather than later.
According to Syfy, the show will be released on Blu-Ray, with all 85 episodes of Batman: The Animated Series included, as well as the films Mask of the Phantasm and Batman and Mr. Freeze: Sub Zero. The box set will also have featurettes about the making of the show and is available to pre-order on Amazon for $113 USD. It will also be available on DC’s Universe Streaming service, which will be released this fall before the launch of the Blu-ray in October.
Pusha T‘s wedding to longtime girlfriend Virginia Williams on July 21 was attended by a small variety of key music industry players. Pusha’s brother, No Malice, officiated the ceremony, with Pharrell and Pusha’s manager Steven Victor standing alongside the couple as the best man and groomsman, respectively. Of course, Pusha’s DAYTONA producer and close friend Kanye West made an appearance, joined by Kim Kardashian. Hosted by Virginia Beach’s Cavalier Hotel, the event was relatively low-key, with only a small handful of friends and family members in attendance.
Originally announced in 2012, the fourth and final film in the Rebuild of Evangelion tetralogy has finally received a release year.
After six long years of waiting and speculation, fans of the series can now expect the end of animator Hideaki Anno’s theatrical reboot of Neon Genesis Evangelion to hit Japanese theaters in 2020. Although not much has been revealed, Evangelion: 3.0+1.0, also known as Evangelion 4.0, is expected to follow the events of Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo and provide some form of conclusion to the anime series marked by enigmatic narratives. Despite the guarantee of an ending, many fans of the series are noting the upcoming film’s promotional poster tagline of “Tsuzuki, soshite owari,” meaning “The continuation, and the end,” is reminiscent of the psychological trying endings seen throughout the series’ 24-year long history.
