Ahead of the arrival of
Goku-themed take on the silhouette,
adidas Originals have returned to the original
ZX 500 silhouette to give it a sleek update. The key change here is the addition of a full-length BOOST midsole which replaces the traditional foam tooling of the first sneaker. Other new features include an updated upper with fused stripes and re-engineered mesh underlays.
The sneaker is set to release in two colorways including a nod to the to the grey, white and red colors of the original. The second colorway features a “Stone Grey” upper, which is offset with “Candy Floss Pink” accents on the tongue and midsole inserts. Both colorways will arrive at
size? on July 7, with each pair priced at £120 (approx. $160 USD).
Known for its timely collaborations,
adidas is rumored to be currently working on a project with
HBO‘s hit fantasy drama series
Game of Thrones.
Potentially releasing in 2019, the drop of an unexpected team-up would coincide perfectly with the show’s eighth and final season coming next year. Despite sneakers being the last item to be associated with the series based on
George R. R. Martin‘s novels, there is an early rendering of a House Stark-inspired
adidas UltraBOOST now circulating social media. Expressing the snow-laden greys of Winterfell, the render sports a mixture of darker tones accented by a full-length grey BOOST midsole and a “Winter Is Coming” heel tag.
This time, the olive green “Digi Floral” print returns to the Air Max 98 silhouette’s upper, albeit with less camouflage as the original. The rest of the silhouette echoes the color scheme with military green leather and suede panels, pink embroidered Swoosh and Nike branding, a pink full-length visible Air unit and a gum outsole to round things out.
The Air Max 98 “Digi Floral” is releasing soon at select Nike retailers such as
Rock City Kicks.
Back in June we shared a look at the
adidas Sobakov in black/gum. Today the Three Stripes released a contrasting colorway in white/gum. The upper features knitted weaving throughout with leather detailing found on the heel and tongue. adidas’s Three Stripes branding is placed on the lateral and medial sides with it wrapping around the heels.
Considered by some as the soccer adaptation of the
Kamanda, the adidas Sobakov in white/gum is currently available at select stockists such as
Rock City Kicks for $140 USD.
Following a number of scheduled and surprise restocks of his collaborative Nike Air Max 1/97, Sean Wotherspoon has teased something new. Sharing via Instagram, the Round Two co-owner showed off a duo of samples that we could’ve seen instead of the notable launch. Wotherspoon also mentions the level of intrigue that the “Sample Pack” story holds, generating more anticipation.
After resurrecting the
Trimm Star silhouette with two VHS colorways — in
white and
black — UK-based retailer
size? has returned to the archival
adidas Originals sneaker for a third time. Similar to the previous releases, the new sneaker features minimal branding with just a gold foil logo on the sidewall.
The new colorway of the sneaker sees its upper come in a light blue suede construction, which is offset by the use of burgundy on the Three Stripe branding and the heel tab. This then sits atop a classic gum sole unit. Take a look at the sneaker in the gallery above, and expect it to drop via the size? app and physical stores on July 6.
