Ralph Lauren 45 MM Ceramic Automotive Watch

Image of Ralph Lauren 45 MM Ceramic Automotive Watch

Meant to capture the essence of a classic automobile in the form of a watch, the Ralph Lauren 45 MM Ceramic Automotive Watch is inspired by a 1938 Bugatti 57SC Atlantic coupe. The matte-black ceramic chronograph features a Swiss-made automatic movement, an outer elm burl wood dial and a printed tachymeter scale. Some may find the placement of the three circular displays a nuisance as they envelope most of the hour hand markings, but aside from the cosmetic implications, the watch is a fine example of a classic watch. Complete with alligator-embossed box, the RL Ceramic Automotive Watch will set you back $14,500 USD.

Nike KD7 “35,000 Degrees & Nike Debuts Several More KD7 Colorways

Slighted in the Chesapeake Energy Arena and thus again starved of the opportunity to challenge his foil for the title, Kevin Durant has more than reason to return in the 2014-15 season with a vengeance. Nike brilliantly incorporates this into the KD7, the sequel to Durant’s successful signature KD6 – an aggressive, overtly athletic take on the player’s low top sneaker. Here we examine the debut colorway, dubbed “35,000 Degrees,” executed in a bold highlight orange color to signify the temperature of a lightning strike. The sneaker is outfitted with both Flywire and a securing strap across the lace box, ensuring support on the forefoot for quick cuts. The ‘lightning’ motif is further underlined by the sneaker’s ‘Volt’-colored outsole, which itself is inscribed with stratospheric graphics. Look for this hotly anticipated sneaker to arrive online and on shelves beginning July 12, and head here for more on the shoe’s design inspiration.

HODINKEE Takes a Retrospective Look at Eric Clapton’s Rolex Pre-Daytona Reference 6034 in Rose Gold

Available to the highest bidder this weekend is one of the cooler vintage Rolexs to go on sale in recent memory: an early 1950s chronograph that once belonged to guitar god Eric Clapton. Due to be available this Saturday via online auction house Auctionata, the piece, as HODINKEE points out, is incredibly interested for a number of reasons.
As reference 6034, the watch exists as one of Rolex’s always unique “pre-Daytona” designs while eschewing both steel and yellow gold in favor of rose gold – a metal far rarer than the others mentioned. Powered by a calibre R 72 manual wind movement, the chronograph employs a silver dial, gold hands, and a case that measures 35mm in diameter and 12mm thick.
Fully functional and in extremely good condition, Clapton’s unique timepiece will be available beginning Saturday, June 28 at 6:00 p.m. CET with a starting price of €50,000 EUR (approximately $68,000 USD) and an estimated valuation of €100,000 EUR (approximately $136,000 USD).

      adidas Originals ZX FLUX Red/Black

After giving word to a new ZX Flux pack on a weekly basis, it’s been over a month since we last premiered a new colorway to this popular trainer. adidas Originals is back however, by way of Swiss retailer Titolo, to release an iteration that demands attention with its vibrant red upper and contrasting black and white accents. Look for this model at select retailers, including the aforementioned Titolo with a price tag hovering around €96 EUR (approximately $131 USD).

A First Look at the Nike KD VII “USA”

Today we’ve got our first good look at Kevin Durant‘s next signature shoe: the Nike KD VII. Debuting in a patriotic “USA” colorway, the KD VII looks much like the KD VI Elite from the front but starts to look very different as you move back. There is a midfoot strap for added lockdown and support — a feature we last saw on the KD IV — and a Foamposite heel section with a dramatic fold running diagonally from the midfoot down to the back of the heel. Underneath is responsive Zoom Air cushioning with a Max Air bag in the heel. Look for the KD VII “USA” soon at select stockists including Wish.

        Nike Air Max 93 “Citrus”

Yet another OG colorway of the Air Max 93 returns for Summer 2014 from Nike Sportswear as the classic “Citrus” makeup joins the “Menthol” colorway for the season. Decked out in an official colorway of White/Bright Citrus-Hydro, the retro release sees blue neoprene coupled with a predominately white upper of leather and mesh as the design’s signature citrus hue hits the branding, heel, and visible Max Air unit. The Nike Air Max 93 “Citrus” is now available via Titolo.
