LeBron James and Kevin Durant Lead NBA All-Star Fan Votes

lebron james kevin durant lead nba all star fan votes west east conference stephen curry kyrie irving news info

NBA has announced that Lebron James and Nets forward Kevin Durant currently top the All-Star votes for the Western and Eastern conferences respectively with more than 3 million votes each. Joining James and Durant are Stephen Curry and Kyrie Irving who lead the votes in the guard positions.

In the first returns, it seems that James and Durant are set to lead their respective conferences once again following Team LeBron’s narrow 163-160 victory over Team Durant in last year’s All-Star game. Runner-ups in each conference include MVP race leader Nikola Jokić (Western) and Giannis Antetokounmpo (Eastern) for the Frontcourt and Luka Dončić (Western) and Donovan Mitchell (Eastern) for guards who both recently broke their respective franchise points records.

Fan submissions account for 50% of the overall vote to determine the starters for the 2023 NBA All-Star Game with NBA players and a media panel accounting for 25% of the vote each.

Take a look at the top 10 vote-getters by position in the first fan returns for the NBA All-Star game below. Voting is now open on the NBA website and the next fan-voting update is scheduled to be shared on January 12.

H.R. Giger and Hajime Sorayama grew up on opposite ends of the earth and equally possessed a starkly different view on the promises of technology. Giger, whose monstrous machines would characteristically be tied to the Alien franchise, presented a haunting vision of the distant future. Whereas, Sorayama continues to create erotically-charged robots that oscillate between human and machine, reality and fantasy.

NANZUKA worked with COEXIST and UCCA Lab in Beijing to present an enthralling new exhibition juxtaposing the work of the two legendary artists. H.R. Giger X Sorayama: Approaching features 45 works by each figure from the 1960s to the present day. The show’s layout was inspired by an underground any colony, where visitors will be pitted amongst a series of rooms — each presenting a duality of notions.

The exhibition is divided in three different sections — “Surrealistic Explorations, Fear, and Fantasy”; “The Eve of Tomorrow, Between the Biological and the Mechanical”; and “ Seeds of Pop Culture.” Each section offers a deep dive into both artists, how they compared and differed over the years, along with a focus on their influence on science fiction films, popular music, club culture, fashion, and video games.

H.R. Giger X Sorayama: Approaching opened on Christmas day and will be on view at UCCA Lab in Beijing until February 19, 2023.

THE GOAT: Check Out the Full List of Picasso Exhibitions This Year

Celebration Picasso 1973-2023 Exhibition List News

Picasso lovers worldwide, 2023 is the year for you. To mark the 70th anniversary of his death, the governments of France and Spain worked together on a year-long suite of retrospective exhibitions dubbed “Celebration Picasso 1973-2023”, which will examine particular periods within his life and the legacy he’s left on the art world since.

Kicking off the list is a contemporary showcase at the Musée Picasso in Paris presented in collaboration with fashion designer Paul Smith. Not long after, the Museo Picasso in Málaga and the Guggenheim Bilbao will showcase Picasso: Matter and Body that will focus on the artist’s lifelong sculptural practice, often seen as secondary to his oeuvre, but having played an essential aspect throughout his career. Similarly, the Musée Magnelli, Musée de la céramique-Vallauris and Museu del Disseny de Barcelona will highlight Picasso’s ceramic-based work.

In Madrid, Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía will present Picasso 1906: the Turning Point and across the pond in New York City, the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) will spotlight Picasso’s three-month excursion in Fontainebleau in the spring of 1921. Also in New York, the Brooklyn Museum will present a show co-curated by Australian comedian Hannah Gadsby that examines “the interconnected issues of misogyny, masculinity, creativity and ‘genius’, particularly around a complex, mythologized figure like Picasso”, according to spokesperson of the museum.

It would be difficult to find another artist, living or dead, who has garnered more attention in a single year than Picasso in 2023. Check out the full list of exhibitions below.

Air Jordan 2 Retro “Chicago”

GOAT Air Jordan 2 Retro Models Chicago Grey Fog Airness White Varsity Red J. Balvin Chicago Home Beach Sneaker Release Date
Release Date: December 30, 2022
Lowest Price: $269 USD

The original 1986 release of “Chicago” encapsulates the legacy and career of Michael Jordan and a moment in time when Jordan Brand strong-armed the NBA to drastically shift its sneaker regulations to accommodate the rise of streetwear at large, harkening back to the 1985 launch of “Bred.” The 2022 take on the coveted silhouette is faithful to the original, with one minor deviation. Atop the tongue, a vibrant red Wings emblem distinctly replaces the familiar Nike Air logo. The medial and lateral panels are enveloped in white, pebbled leather. Minimal contrasted details can be found along the black piping around the tongue and collar, a black midsole equipped with Air technology underfoot and injections of “Varsity Red” at the heel tab and outsole. Finishing touches, like the Nike logo, stamped at the heel, a “23” cloth patch decorating the back of the tongue and black laces unify the beloved color story.

GOAT Air Jordan 2 Retro Models Chicago Grey Fog Airness White Varsity Red J. Balvin Chicago Home Beach Sneaker Release Date
Release Date: September 15, 2022
Lowest Price: $220 USD

The ‘Boy from Medellín,’ Colombian reggaeton singer J. Balvin, teamed up with Jordan Brand for one of the franchise’s most eye-catching collaborations of 2022. From the graphic cloud print adorning the counter heel to the geometric topstitching applied to parts of the collar and midfoot, J. Balvin’s reimagined AJ2 is a playful and kitschy embodiment of his personality at large. There’s a lot at play texture-wise: puffy paneling at the midfoot and collar, shiny ripstop interiors and suede components at the tongue. Pops of gray, baby blue and rainbow topstitching bring a sense of depth to the airy creation. To up the ante even more, this AJ2 is replete with glow-in-the-dark Wings branding atop the tongue while Balvin’s smiley face logo decorates the lower base.

GOAT Air Jordan 2 Retro Models Chicago Grey Fog Airness White Varsity Red J. Balvin Chicago Home Beach Sneaker Release Date
Release Date: June 01, 2022
Lowest Price: $169 USD

Released in June, A Ma Maniére x Jordan Brand’s AJ2 “Airness” is a soft-washed execution that revisits the colorway’s signature crackled leather base. The off-white uppers are adorned with a translucent overlay, which sits atop a black midsole accented by a snakeskin pattern. For added contrast, decorative maroon piping outlines the medial panels, finished with black nylon piping at the collar, black laces and a matching Wings emblem at the tongue. A Ma Maniére branding appears at the back of the heel.

Union LA x Air Jordan 2 Retro SP “Grey Fog”

GOAT Air Jordan 2 Retro Models Chicago Grey Fog Airness White Varsity Red J. Balvin Chicago Home Beach Sneaker Release Date
Release Date: April 15, 2022
Lowest Price: $148 USD

No matter the release, Union LA x Jordan Brand collabs stir the sneaker sphere into a frenzy. The April launch of “Grey Fog” followed suit. One of two sneakers included in the “Future is Now” collection (including the limited colorway “Rattan”), the collaborative “Grey Fog” was introduced to the world in tandem with slides and apparel developed by Chris Gibbs and his team. The collection centers around the idea of utopia while drawing design influence from organizations and professions that usher in change, in this case, taking sartorial inspiration from flight jackets and utility apparel. Within this theme, light gray nylon and suede uppers pop from the contrasting soft blue piping for an overlay effect. The midfoot consists of perforated suede paneling, which gives way to the stylized nylon collar. The laces and tonal Nike Air and “UN/LA” cloth patches at the tongue and along the eyestays reintroduce hits of yellow, and a retro-inspired identification tag hugs the side collar.

Off-White x Air Jordan 2 Retro Low SP “White Varsity Red”

GOAT Air Jordan 2 Retro Models Chicago Grey Fog Airness White Varsity Red J. Balvin Chicago Home Beach Sneaker Release Date
Release Date: November 12, 2021
Lowest Price: $509 USD

The late Virgil Abloh’s 2021 collaboration with Jordan Brand is a visual feat marked by multi-textured overlays and graphic customizations. The base consists of white pebbled leather accented by “Varsity Red” piping and overlays predominantly applied to the midfoot. The cream midsole deploys a graphic motif and semi-translucent inlay to appear as though the midsole is slowly breaking apart with wear. Jordan’s signature adorns the side collar, while an Off-White manufacturing ID dominates the medial panel. The sneakers are equipped with colorblocked laces and the translucent zip-ties wink at sneaker culture as a cheeky finishing touch.

Just Don x Air Jordan 2 Retro “Beach”

GOAT Air Jordan 2 Retro Models Chicago Grey Fog Airness White Varsity Red J. Balvin Chicago Home Beach Sneaker Release Date
Release Date: January 30, 2016
Lowest Price: $604 USD

Don C left his stamp on the AJ2 franchise with the coveted 2015 release of “Cream” and later the luxurious and monochromatic colorway “Beach,” distributed in 2016. “Beach” is a tone-on-tone construction with minimal departure from its sand-toned theme, featuring quilted leather uppers and smooth-grain leather. Camel-toned branding, like the embossed Wings logo at the tongue, is paired with gold-toned Nike branding at the back of the heel and a commemorative golden wings pin draped over the laces. Red “Just Don” and “23” cloth patches, covertly placed as interior accents, add a pinch of color.

Air Jordan 2 Retro Low “Chicago”

GOAT Air Jordan 2 Retro Models Chicago Grey Fog Airness White Varsity Red J. Balvin Chicago Home Beach Sneaker Release Date
Release Date: May 21, 2016
Lowest Price: $192 USD

Launched in 2016, this low-top take on “Chicago” sticks to the basics of its 1987 predecessor. Black, “Varsity Red” and white accents build out the color story, while the midsole is enveloped in jet-black rubber with Air cushioning underfoot. A Wings emblem adorns the tongue, and at the back, the signature ribbed heel tab is left untouched. The collar features a faux lizard motif, adding texture to the otherwise matte-finished construction.

Lowest Price: $104 USD

First a retro in 1994, “Chicago Home” later returned in 2008 and most recently in 2014 after a string of limited releases. “Chicago Home” subtly subverts the classic color story by introducing gray overlays to the outsole in lieu of “Chicago’s” blacked-out paneling. Though subdued at first glance, the medial panel features a lizard skin print. “Varsity Red” piping accents the white leather uppers, with red Wings branding at the tongue and a Nike logo stamped atop the heel tab.GOAT Roundup Air Jordan 1 Retro High Lost & Found Release Date Airness Dark Mocha Shadow Black Toe Royal Shattered Backboard Bred

The original “Chicago” Air Jordan 1, released in 1985, ushered in today’s drop culture, the painstaking art of snagging coveted Air Jordans and other high-valued sneakers at the drop of a hat. The bright red-and-black colorway, created by Micheal Jordan, was initially banned on the court due to player gear regulations. After Jordan Brand paid costly fees to the NBA, the league eventually approved the colorway, cementing the model as an integral pulse within the sneaker world.

Along with its vintage paneling, “Chicago Lost & Found,” also known as “Chicago Reimagined,” once coyly lived as deadstock on the shelves of mom-and-pop thrift stores — a weathered box tucking away newspaper and final sale receipts upped the prestige for shoe collectors. To get your hands on the box alone proved an exhilarating cop for die-hard sneakerheads. “Chicago Lost & Found” is already dominating Jordan Brand’s holiday lineup. The roundup below celebrates the high-top silhouette, including eye-catching collaborations with A Ma Maniére and Union LA

“Chicago Lost & Found” first appeared earlier in the year as “Chicago Reimagined.” Collectors may remember the original mashup of “Varsity Red/Black/Sail/Muslin” tones. Expected to dominate Jordan Brand’s 2022 holiday lineup, the revamped model dons the original 1985 construction with subtle improvements to the toebox design. The base is enveloped in white leather, while the lateral panel is adorned with “Varsity Red” overlays, a jet black Swoosh and faded black leather at the collar. “Muslin” tones come in at the tongue with contrasting white laces and a red Nike Air tag at the top, followed by a black collar lining. The Wings logo is stamped just below the collar. The stacked heel features “Sail” midsoles and “Varsity Red” rubber outsoles. “Chicago Lost & Found” packaging harkens back to the sneaker’s 1985 craze, housing graphic tissue paper, vintage-inspired newspaper clippings and an early ‘80s sales invoice.

“Shadow 2.0” dropped in 2021 as a retro remastering of the original “Black/Gray” 1985 AJ1. It’s enveloped in a cool-toned color scheme fronted by muted gray overlays and contrasting smooth grain leather in black. Aside from the stark white midsole, the model carries this tonal colorblocking down to the jet black laces, black outsole and Air Jordan branding near the collar. The familiar Nike Air tag hits the tongue. Its 2018 sister style, “Shadow,” riffs on design by incorporating saturated gray overlays throughout the uppers and collar.

Originally released in November 2021, “Airness” followed the success of A Ma Maniére x Jordan Brand’s Air Jordan 3 “Raised By Women” released earlier in the spring. “Airness” adopts its predecessor’s soft-washed execution using a similar crackled white leather base. Mixed materials, like the translucent overlay along the heel and snakeskin textures wrapping the midsole, contrast against the model’s decorative maroon piping and ribbed rubber heel tag. Hints of black reappear at the quilted lining, laces and oversized Air Jordan emblem stamped atop the tongue. At the heel, a Maniére box tag adorns the collar.

Nike Air branding decorates the tongue, along with a Cactus Jack cloth patch that reappears near the Swoosh logo in white lettering. The outer heel is stamped with Scott’s graffiti-style face logo. Released in 2020, Jordan Brand’s “Dark Mocha” Air Jordan 1 pays tribute to this style using the same brown-and-white construction with injections of matte black leather near the throat and toe cap.

Jordan Brand and Union LA collaborations often build on symphony of color and texture, referencing signature staples from the franchise. Chris Gibbs’ 2018 “Black Toe” continues this arc by paying homage to thrifting culture. The shoe’s mix-matched facade — notably the inky black overlays, gray suede paneling at the collar and off-white laces — starkly contrasts against the pebbled white leather base, off-white midsole and rich maroon outsole. Its namesake comes from the leather black toebox and hits of black that dominate the lateral panel and Nike Swoosh. Off-white components reappear at the laces and piping along the collar. Finishing touches are seen with blue zig-zag topstitching decorating the heel and yellow piping outlining each component. Cool-toned Nike Air and Jordan branding appear at the collar, alongside a bright yellow Union LA box tag, tying in the silhouette’s collage-inspired theme.

The Swoosh overlay is clad in blue pebbled leather, while the uppers are fitted in smooth-grain leather. Because of its stealthy, all-black base, the injection of “Royal Blue” is even more impactful, including the debossed Air Jordan Flight logo and Swoosh branding embroidered on the tongue. The blacked-out components are contrasted by the glossy finish of the patent leather mudguard and chunky outsole consisting of white padding and a translucent rubber outsole.

“Legend Blue” is an icy, minimalist take on the retro silhouette. This colorway originally debuted in 1996 when Michael Jordan famously sported the silhouette during the NBA All-Star Game. The uppers are clad in white, smooth-grain leather, which continues at the base with a glossy patent leather mudguard. Powder blue elements disrupt the monochromatic build, seen at the outsole, tongue and embroidered Jumpman insignia stamped on the heel tab. Instead of dominating the entirety of the medial panel, the signature mesh is applied exclusively to the tongue with contrasting black piping at the collar and counter lining. As a finishing touch, a black/blue carbon fiber plate equips the outsole for extra support.GOAT Air Jordan 4 Retro Models Midnight Navy Release Date Military Black Lightning Black Cat Sail Off Noir Fire Red Bred White Cement

At the time of its 2006 release, the vibrant colorway, “Lightning,” was exclusively sold as an online release housing a T-shirt. The model made an anticipated comeback in August 2021. The nubuck uppers are famously clad in bright “Tour Yellow” hues. Grayscale accents adorn the nubuck upper, starting with jet black hardware near the lacing system and netting along the medial panel. A “Flight” patch sits atop the tongue while the heel tag is decorated with an oversize Jumpman motif. “Black Cat” originally released in 2006, later dropping again in 2020.

“Sail” marks the third collaborative effort between Jordan Brand and the late Virgil Abloh. The shoe debuted during Off-White’s Fall/Winter runway presentation and MCA exhibition. The model’s creamy, monochrome theme is offset with tonal variations throughout the lacing system. The line’s signature stenciling accents the smooth-grain uppers, along with off-white embellishments that hug portions of the midsole and outsole. A custom maker’s mark inside the netting denotes mutual branding and the model’s manufacturing location. A semi-translucent bubbled tab is melded to the heel. Small embellishments, such as “AIR” lettering stamped above the window unit, complement the model’s soft-washed color story.

Release Date: August 29, 2020
Lowest Price: $302 USD

The Union LA x Air Jordan 4 Retro “Off Noir” was quite divisive at the time of release. Founder Chris Gibbs’ creation drew inspiration from childhood pastimes by shortening the height of the model’s larger-than-life tongue, giving it the appearance as though it was tucked down. Further distinguishing the silhouette, “Off Noir” is enveloped in a mash-up of moody accent colors against the black base. Key differences include the translucent support wings and webbed eyelets, both of which starkly pop against the white fish netting near the throat and vamp. Mixed materials, like the woven paneling at the toe cap and collar, break up the shoe’s suede components. In lieu of a colorblocked midsole, the style dons a solid mustard yellow base. “Nike Air” branding hugs the heel with red “Air Jordan” patches on the tongue.

Air Jordan 4 Retro OG “Fire Red”

Release Date: November 27, 2020
Lowest Price: $303 USD

The OG colorway originally debuted in 1989 and was later re-released in 2006 and 2012. This AJ4 is a bright and clean iteration of the iconic model — mostly dominated by hits of red, black, and gray. Faithful to its predecessor, “Fire Red” dons a white leather upper punctuated by red accents at the eyelets and outsole. The outer heel, midsole and support wings are enveloped in inky, black tones contrasting the medial webbing. The visible Air unit is offset by light gray trimming along the outsole. The heel features an oversized “Nike Air” graphic, with “Flight” branding on the tongue.

Release Date: May 04, 2019
Lowest Price: $378 USD

In May 2019, “Bred” re-released, staying true to its 1989 source material. “Nike Air” graphics dominate the heel tab in gray. These tones are incorporated in the piping along the collar, the netted eyelets and stacked outsole contrasting the model’s smokey, black suede paneling. The support wings and mesh overlay complement the monochromatic color story, which continues with colorblocked “Nike Air” and Jumpman branding on the heel and tongue.

Air Jordan 4 Retro OG “White Cement”

Release Date: February 13, 2016
Lowest Price: $561 USD

“White Cement” is another iteration from Jordan Brand’s remastered campaign. The original ‘89 silhouette was made famous after appearing in Spike Lee’s Do the Right Thing, later reissued in 1999, 2012 and again in 2016. It’s a simple, cool-toned execution with decorative overlays structured throughout the upper. The tiered midsole sees a mix of textures and finishes, like the matte herringbone insert in black, which is paired alongside solid gray and white components framing the exposed Air unit.
