Off the back of Daily Paper‘s momentous 10th anniversary, the Dutch label just unveiled its Fall/Winter 2022 ‘Holiday’ collection, celebrating the power of community.

Comprised of cozy cotton, knitwear and puffer jackets, the collection offers a seasonal starter pack for the colder months ahead. Tapping into the brand’s community-based ethos, FW22 features a range of family portrait artworks, embodying heritage, artistry and togetherness.

The artworks adorn a range of hoodies, T-shirts and two pieces, aiming to highlight the importance of family. Elsewhere, prints commemorate locally grown produce, with slogans like ‘Stay Grounded in your Roots’ accompanying them. FW22 wouldn’t be complete without Daily Paper’s signature monogram print, and this time it takes the form of knitwear, scarves and puffer jackets, alongside two new fuzzy handbags in brown and turquoise.

The new Daily Paper FW22 ‘Holiday’ collection will be available for purchase from the brand’s website on October 21, alongside its flagship stores in AmsterdamLondon and New York.

Lourenzo Smith Documents His Love for Vintage Mercedes-Benz in 'FULL FRAMES'

Lourenzo Smith is one of the many creatives who used the pandemic as a way to fully pursue his creative passions. Based in Los Angeles, the photographer has always carried an affinity for vintage luxury and has produced a new photo-book exploring the impact that Mercedes-Benz has had on his life.

Back in the ’80s, Smith’s parents immigrated to the United States as a way to provide a better life for their kids, as a result of the Liberian Civil War. Both of Smith’s parents would carry a penchant for aviation as they’d attend school and work in the field. His father would also go to automotive classes and become a highly skilled mechanic — teaching his son about the craft from an early age and going to junkyards where the two would collect discarded Mercedes-Benz emblems.

Almost like the ‘American Dream’ itself, Mercedes became a symbol of aspiration for Smith, whose book, FULL FRAMES, elegantly documents some of the most iconic cars in the German company’s history.

FULL FRAMES spans 94 pages and is available to purchase at Blurb for $68 USD. 100% of proceeds will benefit charitable organizations, such as Healing Liberia, Let’s Save Humanity-Libera and KEEP Liberia. Smith hopes these endeavors will lead to working with Mercedes one day to produce affordable cars and sustainable goods for his home country.

For Jacob Rochester, art can be anything that provides him inspiration. Persian carpets, vintage Porsches, Japanese streetwear — bits and pieces that have shaped him since his early days growing up in Connecticut to his current home in Los Angeles.

Having recently worked on an NFT collection for the NBA, Rochester and FRANCHISE have teamed up again for a new solo exhibition, titled Under Pressure. Mostly painted against an empty backdrop, each element within his paintings can be seen as portals into the artist’s inner muses and daily experiences.

To accompany the works on view, Rochester has also released a new limited-edition tee, along with a new EP, dubbed 100+. The four track collection is a blend of house & UK garage-inspired tracks, laced with R&B vocals, available on all music streaming platforms starting on November 4th.

Under Pressure will open this Saturday, October 22 and run through November 12.

Acclaimed American artist Nina Chanel Abney unveiled a new solo exhibition at the University of Washington’s Henry Art Gallery.

Located at the institution’s Seattle campus, Fishing Was His Life presents a series of prints and paintings inspired by the culture and commerce of fishing within the African American community. Hidden beneath her deceptively simple geometric planes, Abney explores themes pertaining identity, politics, race and sexuality, particularly within coastal fisheries and the structural inequities that threaten Black livelihoods within the industry.

The exhibition marks the culmination of Abney’s 2020 Gordon Parks FoundationFellowship. The artist commented further:

“After seeing Gordon Parks’s 1943-44 series documenting the fishing industry along the Atlantic coast, I immediately wondered about who was omitted from that documentation: African American fishermen. I was inspired to investigate the history of Black Americans in the commercial fishing industry – a legacy that is obscured. Fishing has deep roots in the Black community, yet the voices of Black fishermen are vastly underrepresented and their businesses in decline.”

Fishing Was His Life will be on view until March 3, 2023.

FILA has joined forces with Hailey Bieber for the brand’s newest global campaign, photographed by Renell Medrano with styling by Bieber herself, alongside Dani Michelle.

Spotlighting key styles from FILA’s new collection alongside archival pieces, the campaign sees Bieber style a range of sweatshirts, vests, oversized pants and jackets, completing the looks with staple bucket hats and FILA footwear.

“My style is ever-evolving and FILA’s designs are timeless and the perfect complement to my everyday wardrobe,” notes Hailey in a press release. “I’m grateful for the opportunity to work closely with the brand to pull these iconic pieces and present them in a way that feels like a true reflection of my personal style.”

“Hailey has an enviable and often imitated street style, and she has quickly emerged as a fashion icon for this generation,” adds FILA’s Global Chairman. “As a brand, we have always celebrated individuality and a willingness to take chances in design. Hailey is fearless with her fashion choices, with a versatility, authenticity and originality in the expression of her style. FILA has organically become part of Hailey’s closet and it was a natural fit to work together on this new campaign.”

Drawing inspiration from the spirit of the ’90s, the campaign embodies a retro edge, created through the use of collegiate-style pieces merged with contemporary silhouettes. It offers a more muted, understated look for FILA, something the brand has seemingly been edging towards through its previous collaborations with the likes of Aries and Y/Project, and its upcoming partnership with Haider Ackermann.

Check out the campaign in full above, with the collection available to shop from FILA’s website.

Tiffany & Co. has unveiled its first-ever campaign starring house ambassador Hailey Bieber.

The visuals, shot by Glen Luchford, mark the model’s debut after being officially named as the jeweler’s global ambassador. Dressed in a sleek LBD, gray suit and pink skirt, she wears pieces from the Tiffany T collection, including pavé diamond earrings, oversized pendants and more.

Bieber spoke of her first project with Tiffany & Co.: “I have special memories of the women I admire wearing Tiffany & Co. jewelry. It’s a real honor to join that legacy as the face of the T Collection.”
