Jordan Brand Is Opening a "Flu Game" Pop-Up in Salt Lake City

Jordan Brand Is Opening a "Flu Game" Pop-Up in Salt Lake City
Back on June 11, 1997, His Airness came through with one of his most iconic performances of all time, overcoming the flu to drop 38 points and lead the Bulls to a 90-88 win for a 3-2 series lead over the Utah Jazz in Salt Lake City (Chicago would take the championship — along with Jordan’s fifth Finals MVP award — two days later). Nineteen years later, Jordan Brand is celebrating the achievement — and MJ’s black and red kicks — with a celebratory pop-up shop. Taking over Salt Lake City’s Fice Gallery, the shop will, among other things, offer fans yet another chance to cop this year’s “Flu Game” retro — which has already generated in excess of $20 million USD in sales. The pop-up’s biggest draw, however, may be another pair of sneakers: the shop is said to be serving as an early launch platform for the alternate version of the Air Jordan 12 “Flu Game,” which is dominated by a red/white make-up in place of the usual black/red scheme.
Stay tuned for a look at the alternate kicks, as well as more info regarding the pop-up.
Jordan Brand’s Fice takeover opens this Saturday, June 11 at 2:30 p.m. local time.
