Bahamian sprinter Shaunae Miller has beaten the US team’s Allyson Felix to win her gold medal in the Rio Olympics women’s 400 meters race. Miller comes first in the competition at 49.44 seconds, a split second faster then Felix’s 49.51 seconds. Miller was leading from the beginning of the race, while Felix followed closely in the final meters. In the end, the 22-year-old Miller was crowned champion as she dived towards the finish line in exhaustion.
As for Felix, the silver medal is in fact her seventh Olympic medal since she won her first at the 2004 Athens Olympics. The athlete also won a gold medal in the 200 meters race during the 2012 London Olympics. Felix still has a chance to reap another gold in the 4 x 400 meter relay in Rio.
