Entitled “Andy Warhol: Instantanés,” the photography-focused presentation will explore the various themes and techniques that Warhol explored throughout his prolific career.

The exhibition is divided into several themes including sections devoted to his iconic Polaroids, photo booth portraits alongside lesser-known pieces such as prints from film, nude captures from his Sex Parts & Torsos series, and mixed-media work. One of the highlighted pieces in the show is Warhol’s “stitched photographs” comprised of black and white prints attached together with thread that will also go on display. In regards to the “stitched photographs,” the gallery expressed: “These constituted the peak of Warhol’s photographic work, exhibited at his last exhibition in January 1987, six weeks before his death.”

All of the works to go on display in the forthcoming presentation are from the collection of James Hedges who is the founder of Hedges Projects and Jack Shainman Gallery. Elsewhere in art, New York City’s James Fuentes gallery is hosting a solo exhibition featuring politically-charged, abstract artworks from Brooklyn-based artist Jamaal Peterman.
