FRESH KICKS

Is This the Summer of the Nike Air More Uptempo?
Is This the Summer of the Nike Air More Uptempo?
Nike is celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Air More Uptempo in a big way: after a surprise release earlier this month, the Swoosh have announced an April 21 re-up on the shoe’s OG black-and-white colorway, which will retail for $160 USD. The basketball shoes are as synonymous with Scottie Pippen as they are with the oversized “AIR” branding that graces the sides of its upper.
The news of the OG’s re-release comes amid rumors that the Beaverton sports titan will be re-releasing the silhouette’s “Chicago Bulls” and “Olympic” renditions in July—that is, exactly 20 years after Pippen canonized the kicks with a gold medal-worthy performance at 1996′s Summer Games in Atlanta.
Will summer 2016 mark the resurgence of the throwback Pippens? Let us know what you think in the comments below.
NikeLab Is Dropping Another Colorway of the Laser-Cut Air Tech Challenge II
NikeLab Is Dropping Another Colorway of the Laser-Cut Air Tech Challenge II
Thanks to the Air Yeezy 2 (the kicks share, among other things, the same sole unit), Nike’s Air Tech Challenge II has enjoyed a resurgence in recent years, culminating with a number of premium takes on the tennis classic — including a new laser-cut NikeLab treatment. But that black colorway isn’t the only one on the way; NikeLab is also dropping an off-white “Birch” version of the silhouette. Like the black pair, the kicks pair a stark white sole unit with a monochromatic upper, employing a combination of canvas and suede alongside laser-perforated leather paneling.
Given that the black pair is already popping up overseas, you can expect the “Birch” colorway to soon be available at NikeLab dealers worldwide.
Nike to Bring Back The "Michigan" And "UNLV" Dunk High Retros
Nike to Bring Back The "Michigan" And "UNLV" Dunk High Retros
The Nike Dunk Highs have a long history in collegiate basketball, being the shoe of choice for basically all NCAA players throughout the mid- to late-’80s. Unsurprisingly, Nike’s “Be True To Your School” pack was a hit when it first released in 1985 and although these colorways have seen a variety of releases throughout the years, this is the first time Nike is bringing them back in their clean and original form. Look for these Michigan and UNLV iterations of the original Nike Dunk College Basketball Pack retros to release on May 14 at select Nike retailers.
Nike SB Trainerendor White/Obsidian-University Red
Nike SB Trainerendor White/Obsidian-University Red
Nike SB’s crowd favorite, the Trainerendor, gets a striking upgrade as we head into the warmer months. Sporting a clean white mesh upper and a leather Obsidian Swoosh, the model breaks up the monochrome palette with a bold University Red midfoot strap and a heel counter. Now available online at Rock City Kicks, add this to your sneaker collection for the reasonable price of $90 USD.
