After recently splashing its 997H with bright shades of turquoise and hot pink, New Balance has unveiled a series of new 997S styles launching next month. The brand’s signature 997 gets strapped with a sturdier sole unit in the updated model, which is heading down the pipeline in a flurry of new colorways.

For the upcoming edition, New Balance has equipped the footwear with a midsole that combines its Encap Reveal and Abzorb technologies for one of the label’s most cushioned sneakers yet. The upgrades continue along the upper — constructed of mesh with suede or leather paneling details — which is described as having a more “form-fitting” silhouette. Several colors are slated for the shoe’s initial release, spanning neutral options like monochromatic grey and black to brighter choices like royal blue and red.

Priced at $120 USD, look out for the incoming 997S to launch on July 13 at New Balance’s webstore.

New Balance is launching its latest technological innovation: a 3D printed platform which delivers exceptional performance cushioning. The initiative began back in 2017 when the brand first started partnering with Formlabs — the leading 3D printing experts based in Massachusetts — on an exclusive relationship to create high performance materials, hardware, and manufacturing processes for competitive athletic footwear. The co-developed technology, named TripleCell, will make its debut in two different upcoming releases: a 990 Sport and the FuelCell Echo.

“TripleCell will deliver the industry’s pinnacle expression of data to design with seamless transitions between variable properties underfoot”, says Katherine Petrecca, New Balance General Manager, Innovation Design Studio. “This new, cutting edge, digitally manufactured technology is now scaling exclusively within New Balance factories in the U.S. further establishing us as a leader in 3D printing and domestic manufacturing. Formlabs has been an integral partner to bring this to life. We’re really going to be able to disrupt the industry not only in performance, but also in athlete customization and speed to market.”

The Made in USA 990 Sport with TripleCell technology will launch June 28, while the FuelCell Echo will be available on September 15, for price tags of $185 USD and $175 USD respectively.

Skater of the Year 2018 Jamie Foy will be releasing his first pro model with New Balance Numeric, dubbed the 306. Its inaugural release will see two colorways, “Black/White” and “Green/Red,” with both featuring a contrasting white vulcanized sole unit.
Jamie Foy became an official rider for New Balance Numeric in October 2018 and was named SOTY after being spotted as an upcoming professional just two years prior to his crowning. For his first pro model with New Balance, the rising star delivers two clean takes on a low-top skateboarding shoe.
The 306 is built to withstand anything Jamie Foy can throw at them. As a result, the sneaker features a unique visible rubber underlay that reinforces the suede and mesh upper, a low profile vulcanized outsole for increased board feel and a custom molded EVA insole for comfort.
Take a look at Jamie Foy’s New Balance Numeric 306 in the gallery above and pick up your pair from select skate stores and New Balance’s website on July 1.

As a follow up to New Balance‘s recent hot pink-turquoise-hued 997H, the American footwear label has unveiled its latest M997OGA “Blue/Grey” colorway.

Graced with cream-colored supple leather at the tongue and upper heel, black cushion peeks out at the collars. Hits of blue appear in panels of suede at the lower rear quarter and the front toe cap, while white mesh covers the forefoot. New Balance’s classic “N” logo patch is stitched over the sidewalls framed by layers of grey that come in the form of nubuck, hard rubber and reflective detailing. Finishing off the sneaker is its ENCAP midsole underscored by a thin outsole paletted in black and light blue.

The New Balance M997OGA “Blue/Grey” is currently available on solebox.com for $250 USD.
