Jamie Foxx won an Oscar for his portrayal of Ray Charles, and now he’s taking on the life of another musical icon, Marvin Gaye. After getting the nod from Marvin Gaye’s family, Foxx is now set to executive produce a limited series about the soul icon’s life. The series is said to be “a powerful and definitive telling of Marvin Gaye’s life story,” according to the singer’s son Marvin Gaye III, who will also be an executive producer for the series. Motown founder Berry Gordy has also co-signed the project, stating, “Marvin was the truest artist I have ever known. I am confident that this is the right team to bring his story to the audience in an authentic and compelling way.” Apparently, this project has been in the making for over three decades according to one of the show’s producers, Madison Jones.
