FRESH KICKS: NIKE / YEEZY / ADIDAS

With the recent tease from py_rates showing a white version of the Virgil Abloh x Nike Air VaporMax collaboration, we now have more information on the drop dates, and which stores will be stocking.

Catering to the white sneaker crowd, or even those that missed out on Nike’s black colorway release, the mostly-white pair follows a similar styling to version one in the form of a stitched on Swoosh logo, orange tab and red zip-tie that’s often found on Virgil’s Off-White™ imprint. A key difference can be found on the lacing guide, as the choice of suede trim in contrasting beige is added on for a subtle yet effective detail.

Priced similar to past Virgil x Nike VaporMax iterations, the white pair is set for an approximate $250 USD retail price, and will be dropping this Saturday, April 14. Make sure to check back soon as we will be updating the store list as news rolls in.

The YEEZY Desert Rat 500 “Blush” colorway is finally re-appearing, and now you can enter a raffle in order to win a pair. The shoes were first rumored to be released this month back in March and now the official release date is upon us. The first drop for the 500 came back in February, where its release coincided with NBA All-Star Weekend. You can enter the YEEZY Desert Rat 500 “Blush” raffle, with the shoe costing $245 USD, at HBX.

Unveiled as part of their collaborative lookbook, the new footwear capsule from UNDEFEATED and adidas sees the L.A.-based brand take on two athletic-influenced silhouettes. Arguably the stand-out sneaker in the pack is the joint UltraBOOST, which comes in black or white and features a prominent UNDEFEATED print as well as typical elements from the silhouette such as a Primeknit upper, BOOST midsole and Continental Rubber outsole.

The other sneaker in the pack is the adizero adios 3, with UNDEFEATED putting its own spin on the runner. The sneaker comes in mesh and synthetic suede and comes in two different colorways, with a black version and a camouflage version complete with an all-over UNDEFEATED print. The full adidas by UNDEFEATED collaboration will be available from April 14.

Teddy Santis of Aimé Leon Dore just took the wraps off a custom pair of Nike Air Force 1 Lows. This bespoke iteration is predominantly wrapped in orange with deep navy accents on the Swooshes and branded labels. Finishing off the casual-inclined makeup are tonal white tones on the laces, soles and tongue portions. Collectively, the rendition was made especially for Aimé Leon Dore’s Spring/Summer 2018 concept shop which launched this past March in New York City.
