Rihanna's Savage X Fenty Launches Limited Edition Xtra VIP Boxes

Curated by Jaheel Weaver, Rihanna’s personal stylist and deputy creative director of FENTY.

Ahead of the holiday season, Rihanna‘s boundary breaking lingerie label Savage X Fenty is celebrating by launching three new limited-edition Xtra VIP boxes, curated by Rihanna’s personal stylist and deputy creative director of FENTY, Jaheel Weaver.
The selection features three boxes with hand-picked pieces from Savage X Fenty’s lingerie and loungewear styles, all representing a different attitude. “Jahleel doesn’t play by the rules and neither do I,” said Rihanna on the latest release, adding that “You don’t have to be just one thing or wear one style – you can have a totally different vibe every day. That’s why there are 3 boxes. Jahleel knows how to take risks in the right way and I wanted to share that with everyone.”
“I was drawn to each of the box styles because they have a Savage twist and I think it’s important to have pieces with personality as well as a mix of strength and sensuality,” explains Jahleel. “I love the duality of these boxes. The ‘Truth or Dare’ box is relaxed but still feminine, the ‘Still Watching?’ box is ultra-cozy and the ‘XXX’ box is bold and sexy,” said Jahleel on the latest release, explaining that each of the boxes are comprised of different pieces to represent each of the attitudes.
The “Truth or Dare” box is “chill but cheeky,” and boasts a faux fur eye mask, jersey knit styles in black and red, as well as a crop top with a low scoop back. The “Still Watching?” box features a fleece jumpsuit and hoodie, and a logo bralette and high-leg bikini. Lastly, the “XXX” box includes a gift bow half cup bralette, matching open-back undies and a velvet eye mask, kitty whip and velvet restraints. “To me, the most powerful thing about lingerie and Savage X, is the ability to be overtly sexual and choose who gets to see that,” said Jahleel.
The Xtra VIP Boxes are priced between $49.95 and $59.95 USD, with a size range from 32A to 42H in bras, and XS to 3X in undies and sleepwear.

Procell Partners with Tommy Hilfiger on Vintage Archival Collection and Pop-Up

NYC’s premier vintage store will curate a selection of key Hilfiger pieces.

Vintage store and cultural archivist Procell has partnered with Tommy Hilfiger on a curated collection of the brand’s key pieces from the ’90s and early ’00s. For one month starting November 1 the pieces will be available at Tommy Jeans Platform, the brand’s directional pop-up in Brooklyn.
Each item in Procell’s selection nods to cultural influences that defined the ’90s and ’00s, namely hip-hop’s penchant for Hilfiger athletic wear. Pieces include a hi-vis orange puffer vest, Tommy Sailing Gear vest with reflective detailing and cap reading “THA OFFICIAL APPROVED” in embroidered lettering. Designer and stylist Aleali May, one of only two women to design for Nike’s Jordan brand, stars in the collection’s lookbook.
The Procell x Tommy Hilfiger archival collection ranges from $50 to $1,500 USD and will be available at Tommy Jeans and Tommy Hilfiger’s store on Regent Street in London starting November 1.

Footwear News' Achievement Awards 2019 Winners dr martens tommy hilfiger dicks sporting goods of the year retailer shoe designer vf corp vans j balvin reebok zendaya lewis hamilton pyer moss kerby jean raymond pumaa rothys
Footwear News’ Achievement Awards (FNAA) are often referred to as “The Shoe Oscars” within the industry, held annually in New York City since 1986 to honor the best shoes, designers, retailers and more. 2019’s honorees include a plethora of big names and emerging talents, along with some surprising picks.
Key to the ceremony is the “Shoe of the Year” prize, which has since gone to highly-coveted offerings from Virgil Abloh and Kanye West. Surprisingly, this year’s winner is Dr. Martens, taking home the prize for its classic 1460 boot due to “its authentic message of comfort, individuality and rebellion,” according to Footwear News, citing a strong performance among millennial and Gen Z consumers. Meanwhile, Amina Muaddi is granted “Designer of the Year” for her line of celebrity-approved see-know-buy-now luxury line.
Elsewhere, Pyer Moss‘ Kerby Jean-Raymond will receive “Person of the Year” for the brand’s continuing Reebok collaboration, Tommy Hilfiger is deemed the “Collaborator of the Year” prize off the strength of his Zendaya and Lewis Hamilton partnerships and J. Balvin scores the “Style Influencer of the Year” nod. PUMA and the emerging digital-friendly brand Rothy’s share the “Brands of the Year” title, Vans‘ owner VF Corp. is crowned “Company of the Year” and Dick’s Sporting Goods enjoys the title of “Retailer of the Year,” particularly for its recent firearms limitations.
Read the rundown of the winners on Footwear News’ website and expect the company to host a gala for the honorees on December 3.
These winners highlight the enduring strength of shoe sales in the fashion industry, with a bevy of brands placing high on the Lyst Q3 industry ranking list off the strength of their footwear offerings.
