After its recent collaboration with Nike (NYSE:NKE -2.93%on the CloneX NFTRTFKT Studios has teased that an official virtual and physical apparel collection is in coming soon. 

Recently, RTFKT posted to Twitter showcasing a collaborative Nike hoodie as a clone wearable. The character can be seen wearing a Nike and RTFKT co-branded black hoodie. RTFKT co-founder Benoit Pegotta wrote in a Tweet, “This is not your usual physical hoodie, this hoodie is designed for special functions.” He later also explained in another Tweet that this Clone wearable is a fusion of the RTFKT x Nike world, teasing a potential crossover between the virtual and physical world. 

Later, RTFKT Studios confirmed on its Instagram that the hoodie will both be available as an item that will be available as both a Clone wearable and a “forgeable physical soon.” The post also teased a pair of the Nike Dunk Genesis CRYPTOKICKS virtual shoe NFT that debuted not long ago. It is unclear if the shoes will see a physical iteration. Stay tuned for more information.

Nike Acquires Fashion and Sneaker NFT Site RTFKTNike (NYSE:NKE -2.93%Inc. announced on Monday that it has acquired digital sneaker and fashion collectibles site RTFKT.

The site, founded in January 2020 by Benoit Pagotto, Chris Le and Steven Vasilev, is known for creating virtual sneaker designs and exclusive collectibles minted as NFTs. The company has done notable collaborations with Takashi MurakamiJeff StapleLexus and more, and earlier this year sold $3.1 million USD in virtual sneaker designs.

“This acquisition is another step that accelerates Nike’s digital transformation and allows us to serve athletes and creators at the intersection of sport, creativity, gaming and culture,” said John Donahoe, president and CEO of Nike. “We’re acquiring a very talented team of creators with an authentic and connected brand. Our plan is to invest in the RTFKT brand, serve and grow their innovative and creative community and extend Nike’s digital footprint and capabilities.”

The terms of the deal have not been disclosed.

Named “The Keep Watch Crew,” the collection includes 6,969 one-of-a-kind NFTs that will be available for purchase on December 16 at 3PM PT through on NTWRK NFT, a curated NFT marketplace with some of streetwear’s most prominent creators.

To create The Keep Watch Crew, Mishka searched through its archives from the past 18 years to pull patterns and images to incorporate into the backgrounds of the works. Each piece is centered around the iconic “Keep Watch Eyeball” logo, which is rendered to reflect unique traits, like different hair styles, accessories and other details. Within the 6,969 NFTs, there are six that are offered in special one-of-one designs by artists like Buff Monster, LAmour SupremeMark Dean VecaMumbotJohnny Ryan, and Frank Kozik in their respective styles. Fans of Mishka can also look out for NFTs with rare traits by Andy Milonakis, a close friend of the brand.

As Mishka voyages into the “MISHKAVERSE,” streetwear enthusiasts are invited to become part of the brand’s global, decentralized community to help chart the future course. Owning one of Mishka’s NFTs also grants membership to the Keep Watch Crew where people can receive membership perks like lifetime brand discounts, exclusive access to future NFT and merchandise drops.

To join the Keep Watch Crew, you must create a new Keep Watch Crew NFT on the Ethereum blockchain through a process called minting. There will be a button on the NTWRK NFT website that allows you to partake in the two-step process. The earliest fans can try to access a presale mint, which allows them to mint up to 24 hours before the public mint at a discounted price of .059 ETH versus .069 ETH. Additional details on presale are available on the brand’s Discord.
