FRESH KICKS: JORDANS

Air Jordan 11 "Prom Night" Release Info date purchase jordan brand nike jumpman
The Air Jordan 11 “Prom Night” surfaces in its entirety following a round of leaks and previews, courtesy of Instagram user @2muchsol3. The upcoming Jordan Brand colorway is inspired by a famous Air Jordan 11 sample from 2011, dubbed “Blackout,” that sold on eBay for over $11,000 USD. Now, Jordan Brand stamps its official marker on the colorway with a different name and release info.
“Prom Night” features a totally blacked-out upper made of premium nubuck leather and patent at the extended mudguard. Metallic-black Jumpman logos and lace tips add some subtle textural contrast. The “Blackout” theme continues to the midsole, which is then capped off with an icy outsole for that signature AJ11 look.
Air Jordan 11 “Prom Night” is slated to release on May 26 for a retail price of $220 USD.

Air Jordan 10 I'm Back Jordan Brand March 18 Release black white sneakers footwear
To help celebrate Michael Jordan’s historic return to the NBA, Jordan Brand is preparing to unleash a special edition of the Air Jordan 10 with the commemorative “I’m Back” iteration. After a brief hiatus from the game, MJ shocked the sports world in 1995 — putting the league on notice that he was indeed making an official comeback.
Dressed in textured white leather, black detailing found on the eyestay, tongue and collar area provide tonal contrast, while branding on the back ties the look together. “I’m Back” and “3.18.95” — the date MJ announced his return — are highlighted on the rear pull tabs. Other notable features include a short list of Jordan’s accomplishments prior to 1995 landing on the outsole. Retailing for a price of $190 USD, you can find the Air Jordan 10 “I’m Back” at select Jordan Brand carriers on March 18.

Converse Pro Leather Birth of Michael Jordan Air Jordan Brand Tinker Hatfield Dan Sunwoo NCAA University of North Carolina release
Known the world over as one of the greatest basketball players ever, Michael Jordan has seen many accolades and sneaker releases created in homage to him. Next up Converse has created a special pair of Converse Pro Leathers to celebrate the 35th anniversary of Jordan’s NCAA title and also in recognition of the University of North Carolina’s 2017 championship.
Nike’s top designers Tinker Hatfield and Dan Sunwoo have created a limited, friends and family edition of the Converse Pro Leather that signifies the birth of “Michael Jordan.” The shoe, which was worn by Jordan in the ’82 tournament, sees the traditional chevron star logo replaced by a Jumpman in “Tar Heel Blue,” while heel detailing represents the team uniforms from the championship years of 1982 (found on the left) and 2017 (found on the right).
“MJ was wearing the Converse Pro Leather in the 1982 Championship. He is often quoted as saying he felt he became Michael Jordan in that moment,” explains Hatfield. “To signify the birth of MJ, I had the Converse logo fade out and the Jumpman appear.”
The Converse “Birth of Michael Jordan” Pro Leather will be gifted to the current UNC team, as well as friends and family of the program and Jordan Brand.
