FASHION NEWS: BABY PHAT / NARS

Kimora Lee Simmons Buys Baby Phat Women's Brand 2019 Relaunch Info 2000s 00s Fashion Style
Just when you thought the ’00s nostalgia was simmering down, Kimora Lee Simmons Leissner has announced she is set to relaunch the iconic women’s streetwear brand Baby Phat later this year. Fittingly revealing the news on International Women’s Day, Leissner shared with WWD that she’s purchased the label she created as an offshoot of her then-husband Russell Simmons’ Phat Farm menswear line around 20 years ago.
2019 marks nine years since Leissner departed the brand for good – or so we thought. According to WWD, she is planning on combining that sleek kitty logo and other retro elements the brand became synonymous with, like rhinestone detailing and pieces from her personal archive with a modernized appeal to create a range “mainstream sportswear” intended to empower the Millennial and Gen-Z consumers. Leissner also hinted that a collaboration may form part of the new, contemporary version of Baby Phat, although for now we can only guess with whom that will be.
Get the full lowdown on the reintroduction of Baby Phat over at WWD and stay tuned for updates as we find out more. While you wait, why not check out Juicy Couture’s recent collection for some ’00s style inspo?

Naomi Campbell Moschino x H&M Show Collection Dress SilverNaomi Campbell NARS Spring Summer 2019 Campaign
Naomi Campbell has been revealed as the latest supermodel to represent NARS for its Spring/Summer 2019 cosmetics campaign. Though many are under the impression that this is her first-ever beauty campaign, it isn’t. The world-renowned supermodel appeared in a campaign for the beauty company in 2004, as reported by Guardian. The imagery, which was released earlier this week was shot by NARS founder François Nars himself.
Campbell will be the face of the Radiance Repowered range, launching January 2019. According to British Vogue, the campaign will feature foundation shade extensions, a newly-designed Skin Deep Eye Palette and their Super Radiant Booster. She will also star in the NARS Cosmetics’ new Orgasm campaign later next year.
In an official statement, Campbell shares her thoughts on modeling, on behalf of NARS:
“François and I are like family and the same goes for Nars. I am honored to be a part of such an incredible brand for so long.”
On the beauty company’s official Instagram page François Nars shared:
“Naomi is a living icon and brings such strong personality to the camera. She and I are like family. I have known her since the very beginning of her career. From the start, I have admired her, her beauty, and her style.”
