Seminal artist Anthony Lister will soon launch a week-long exhibition entitled “CULTURE IS OVER” at the Kings Cross locality in Sydney, Australia. The forthcoming installment celebrates the 10th anniversary of Lister’s 2009 show entitled “No Win Sitch” that took place at a former strip club. Over 56 new works will be on display at the presentation spanning large-scale paintings, sculptures, and video installations.
Highlights include ‘THE WITCH OF KINGS CROSS’ oil on canvas painting that features the artist’s signature loose figurations and comics-style lettering and spraypaint on board work titled ‘PAY DAY’ that features a subject clad in a money bag outfit with the piece’s title spray painted in the backdrop.
“CULTURE IS OVER” will be open to the public from July 18 until July 24. Visit Anthony Lister’s website to view more works.
