This year marks the centennial anniversary of Bauhaus, and different companies have all found their own way of paying tribute to the art school and movement: from a limited edition camera by Leica to a special Junghans Max Bill Chronoscope to even a BMW Motorrad conversion by Krautmotors. Swiss watchmaker Swatch is now joining in the celebrations with its very own Bau Swatch Collection.
The 25-watch collection honors the Bauhaus style with a variety of designs and colors, ranging from the bold and vibrant to the dark and subtle. Busier silhouettes contrast with minimalistic ones, with styles varying from casual to sporty to even avant-garde. Pricing of the collection ranges from $65 USD and up.
Take a look at the gallery above for a few of the models from the Bau Swatch Collection, and for those interested, head over to Swatch’s site to check out the entire line. All watches from the collection can now be purchased via Swatch’s online store or at its retail locations.
Casio EQB1000D-1A Edifice Collection Sapphire Crystals Bluetooth Silver Teal
Casio is expanding its sophisticated EDIFICE collection with a statement EQB1000D-1A watch which includes a solar panel system, super-slim case and Bluetooth connectivity.
Casio’s new structural innovations and mounting technology allows the watch to be thinner than previous editions while also maintaining a sapphire crystal case. David Johnson, Vice President of Casio’s Timepiece Division said, “Our latest EDIFICE timepiece is the ideal combination of style, innovation and design. We know consumers are always on the hunt for a versatile timepiece that is both functional and looks great. The new EQB1000D-1A offers that and more in a slim and stylish package.”
The silver timepiece with teal detailing also features a Tough Solar chronograph that allows energy to be stored in the watch and maintains its charge. The technology uses a solar panel system that eliminates the need for battery changes, even charging in low or fluorescent lamp light. Without further exposure to light, a full-charged watch can last up to five months.
Similar to the Casio G-SHOCK Mudmaster GG-B100, the timepiece is able to pair up with a smartphone via Bluetooth and access the correct time for up to 300 cities in the world by simply pushing a button. It can also give information on Daylight Saving Time.
The EQB1000D-1A is available online and at select jewelry and watch retail stores for $300 USD. For more information on watches from the EDIFICE collection, head over to Casio’s website.

Tudor's Two-Tone Black Bay Chrono S G Release Info chronograph timepiece baselworld 2019 basel watches
Following the footsteps of Rolex with its new two-tone Sea-Dweller, Tudor has just unveiled its two-tone Black Bay Chrono S&G. Departing from its previous models, the new Chrono S&G features a gold bezel, crown, and pushers on the exterior, with two gold sub-dials and various gold highlights and lettering on the black dial itself. The bezel in particular receives a significant makeover, going from a full steel version (2017) to a gold bezel with a black anodized aluminium insert.
The case measures in at 41mm, holding in its heart a chronometer-certified MT5813 automatic chronograph movement that Tudor developed in partnership with Breitling. The movement holds a power reserve of roughly 70 hours, and can reach depths of 200 meters, or 660 feet. The timepiece comes in three strap options: a gold and steel bracelet, a black 19th-century Jacquard loom-woven fabric strap, or a brown aged-leather strap with a removable bund reminiscent of racing watches from the ’70s.
The Tudor Black Bay Chrono S&G does not have a release date yet, but prices will range from $6,800 USD for the two-tone bracelet to $5,600 USD for the leather or fabric strap.
