Following last year’s highly successful “Harajuku Auction,” SBI Art Auction is teaming up with creative agency en one tokyo for the auction’s second edition. Since the 1960s, Harajuku has played an important role in developing Japan’s fashion, music and art scenes. Taking place at Ba-Tsu Art Gallery in Tokyo, “Harajuku Auction Vol. 2” will showcase Harajuku’s street culture and lifestyle through a range of paintings, ranging from classical artworks, pop art, and graffiti.
For the auction’s second edition, the number of works on show has increased to 211, showcasing works of renowned artists such as Jeff Koons, Damien Hirst, Andy Warhol, Keith Haring, Banksy, KAWS and more. Important works from Japanese artists including Yayoi Kusama, Takashi Murakami, Yoshitomo Nara, Daido Moriyama and Hiroshi Sugimoto will also be on view.
The auction will take place on October 26, with previews of the work available to the public on October 24 and 25.
