Part of the reason that Nike’s Free technology has been so well received is for its simplicity. Celebrating 11 years of the innovation, here we find Nike updating one of its beloved proprietary features with the Free collection for 2015. Comprised of three silhouettes – the Free 3.0 Flyknit, Free 4.0 Flyknit and Free 5.0 – the collection further refines each model’s upper to better accentuate a runner’s natural motion. The Free 3.0 Flyknit and Free 4.0 Flyknit models feature relatively seamless knit uppers that conform to the shape of each athlete’s foot, as well as promote breathability with slightly looser knits. The Free sole has been updated line-wide with hexagonal flex grooves that provide a fuller range of motion for the foot, allowing organic adaptation of the foot to the ground. Elsewhere, Nike’s super-cushioned Free 5.0 has been shed of excess layers, composed with no-sew mesh and Flywire technology to secure the foot. Pick up these updated models beginning April 2 online and in-store.
