Having already done his take on the Nike Air Yeezy 2, custom sneaker designer Maggi redesigns the adidas Yeezy Boost 750 with this unique “Tan” Custom version. Dressed in the same “Tan” colorway as the Yeezy 2s, this iteration is reconstructed with premium leather and features hot pink inner detailing. Some of the sneaker’s original components were left untouched, such as the gray canvas strap and white midsole. Do you like these better than the original Yeezy Boosts?
Following last month’s release of the Tim Coppens x Common Projects Mesh sneaker, the two New-York based brands join forces once again for a striking take on the otherwise minimal Slip-On model. Constructed out of premium black leather, the sneaker features Common Projects’ signature debossed metallic-gold serial numbering at the side, in addition to smooth grey and patent blue leather geometric-shaped panelling that embellishes half the silhouette’s forefoot. A tonal vulcanized sole rounds out the contemporary design. Priced at €368 EUR (approximately $419 USD), the latest collaborative piece of footwear is available for purchase at Matches Fashion.
New from designer Fumito Ganryu as a part of COMME des GARÇONS’ GANRYU imprint’s Spring/Summer 2015 collection is a nod to Converse’s classic Jack Purcell. Perfect for summer, the kicks retain the Purcell’s timeless styling, but ditch the prototypical eyestay in favor of a laceless slip-on design. Crafted from heavyweight canvas, the shoe comes complete with a vulcanized rubber sole, rubber toe cap and the JP’s signature “smile.” Retailing for $283 USD, the shoe is available now in both white and black from GANRYU stockists like HAVEN.
The late Alexander McQueen’s eponymous label looks toward the likes of adidas as it introduces a trio of sneakers for the Summer 2015 season. Clearly inspired by the ever-popular Stan Smith, McQueen’s latest silhouettes see premium leather uppers and a rounded toe coupled with tonal stitching and a thick white rubber sole that brings to mind that of the Tubular Runner or even Nike’s Roshe. Finished with flat laces and metallic gold text branding, the thick-soled kicks can be found now at SSENSE for $620 to $675 USD.
