Porsche Opens New $100 Million Experience Center and Headquarters in Atlanta / Porsche Announces Limited ‘Black Edition’ 911 & Boxster

Porsche North America, which has called Atlanta home since 1998, has opened up its new U.S. headquarters at the northeast corner of the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. The $100 million headquarters and Porsche Experience Center opened their doors to the public earlier this week. The compound features a racetrack on the grounds that will allow prospective buyers to test drive any of Porsche’s six models. Inside, customers can get a glimpse into the German automaker’s storied history, as a compilation of vintage models will be on display in the Classic Car Center. The headquarters also boast a full-service restaurant, gift shop, and something called the Human Performance Center where fitness experts can analyze one’s physical attributes.

Porsche has announced a special “Black Edition” version of its iconic 911 and smaller Boxster. Both cars receive as part of the special package black accents on the interior and exterior, such as darkened headlights. More standard features, including the Porsche Communication Management (PCM) with navigation module, automatically dimming rear-view mirrors, rain sensor, cruise control and Sport Design steering wheel are all included as well in the “Black Edition.” The 911 Carrera Black Edition is based on the 3.4-liter 345hp engine and the Boxster Black Edition is based on the entry-level model powered by the 2.7-liter engine with 261hp. The Porsche 911 Carrera and Boxster Black Edition go on sale in Germany this month with prices starting from €95,058 and €59,477, respectively.
