New York-based brand Public School has become known for its penchant for seamlessly blending high and low references from fashion, music, and art to create unique pieces that straddle the line between streetwear and luxury label. Its Spring/Summer 2015 footwear collection is just further proof of this design philosophy, presenting sneaker silhouettes made with high-end materials such as premium polished leather, all produced in New York with precise detailing and construction. Sticking to a mostly black canvas with white accents coming in the form of the soles and paneling, these could be paired with everything from jeans to a suit, for a night out on the town or a day of errands. UBIQ and Clarks have teamed up to produce a unique, functional and versatile footwear choice geared toward the “Urban Explorer.” This adaptation of Clarks’ Traxter silhouette features a camo pony hair upper, black pebbled leather toe, Ortholite footbed for added comfort and an EVA outsole with Vibram for added lightweight durability. The UBIQ x Clarks Sportswear Traxter “Urban Explorer” will launch first in-store on May 1 with an accompanying gallery show, before releasing online on May 2. The price tag for these is set at $180 USD.
Vault by Vans‘ acclaimed designer Taka Hayashi introduces an elevated update of the Vans Chukka Boot silhouette with the brand new Vans TH Chukka Gore LX. The modern Chelsea boot-inspired model is a slimmed-down version of the Chukka Boot crafted with deluxe materials, and is offered in two premium colorways. The Dark Camel shoe features delicate camel suede uppers, striped gore paneling, square-cut hide laces and embossed pattern detailing that runs throughout the edges of the gusset stitch. The Turkish Coffee silhouette is constructed with rich, dark brown supple leather and features brogue-styled perforations on the medial and lateral sides. Both models sport white midsoles and Taka Hayashi’s footbed branding. The Taka Hayashi x Vault by Vans TH Chukka Gore LX will be available for purchase this May at select stockists for $130 USD each.
Hiroki Nakamura-headed fashion label visvim unveils a new version of its MALISEET-FOLK model for the 2015 spring/summer season. Offered in chic brown and beige colorways, the silhouette’s hand-stitched upper is crafted from premium calf suede, and features eye-catching cotton knit rib detailing along the collar. The upper rests atop of a slimmed form of the brand’s custom rubber outsole. ASICS has released the third entry in its “Carnival Pack.” The Green/Yellow rendition of the ASICS Gel-Lyte III silhouette follows a similar color scheme as its “Rasta” GEL Saga and yellow/black GEL-Lyte V predecessors. A vibrant green appearance is enhanced by neoprene and suede materials, coupled with yellow accents and fiery red detailing.
