Janet Jackson Aiming for Lucky Seventh No. 1 Album on Billboard 200 Chart

Janet Jackson is heading for her seventh No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 chart with Unbreakable. Industry forecasters suggest the set — which was released on Oct. 2 through the diva’s own Rhythm Nation label through BMG — may earn upwards of 100,000 equivalent album units in the week ending Oct. 8.
The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week based on multi-metric consumption, which includes traditional album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA). The top 10 of the Oct. 24-dated Billboard 200 chart (where Jackson will likely debut at No. 1) is scheduled to be revealed on Billboard’s Web sites on Sunday, Oct. 11.
Unbreakable is Jackson’s first studio album since 2008’s Discipline, which bowed atop the Billboard 200, selling 181,000 copies in its first week (according to Nielsen Music).
Jackson earlier led the Billboard 200 with All for You (in 2001), The Velvet Rope (1997), janet. (1993), Janet Jackson’s Rhythm Nation 1814 (1989) and Control(1986).
