KICKS: Air Jordan 8 Retro "Three Time's A Charm"/ Public School x Air Jordan Horizon/ Nike Kobe X Elite Low "Opening Night"/ adidas ZX Flux Winter Boot "Core Black"/ Nike Roshe Cortez "Suede" Pack
Jordan Brand pays homage to Chicago’s first three-peat championship win by bringing back its iconic Air Jordan 8 Retro sneaker. Calling on a color palette inspired by the three teams defeated by the Bulls during their 1991-93 season, which was led by all-time sporting greats Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen. Featuring a mostly white and black base, the infrared Jumpman logo on the tongue and brightly colored heel counter provide eye-catching details while retaining the shoe’s timeless design cues. The shoe is expected to drop on October 24 at Nike.com and will be included in the Jordan Brand 2015 Holiday Retro Lineup.
Public School NYC has long been collaborating with Jordan Brand on a few of its signature sneakers such as the Air Jordan 10 and Air Jordan 12, so the Horizon might come as a surprise to some. The silhouette features a fully-knitted upper set atop an Air Jordan 13 sole, and is similar to the popular Air Jordan Future lifestyle sneaker. Public School NYC’s iteration of the Horizon features a black and white upper featuring geometric shapes. Although an official release date hasn’t been made, expect this pair to retailer around $225 USD.
Although we’re still not sure if the 2015-2016 season will actually be Kobe Bryant’s last, at least we have a new Kobe X Elite Low release to look forward to. The latest iteration of the icon’s signature sneaker returns with a rework titled “Opening Night.” The new Nike Kobe X appears in a mostly purple colorway, with the shoe offered in a mixture of purple tones: Court Purple, Vivid Purple and Cave Purple. The cage-like rendering on the Nike Flyknit upper reveals the Hyper Orange underside that adds a splash of color to the body. The large white Swoosh adds clean branding to the sides of the shoe, and a translucent rubber outsole rounds off the look. The Nike Kobe X Elite Low “Opening Night” drops on October 24 at select Nike Basketball retailers like Social Status.
‘Tis the season of the Winter Boot, and adidas‘s latest to hit stores is a bold iteration of the all-black version that incorporates new materials and vibrant laces. The modern runner is ready for winter with its high-cut, abrasion-resistant, ballistic nylon upper, a neoprene inner sockliner, a white midsole, and a grippy, trail-inspired rubber lug outsole. Striking yellow rope laces stand out against the shoe’s tonal black construction.
Purchase the adidas ZX Flux Winter Boot “Core Black” now at Sneaker Politics for $110 USD. For more similar footwear options, check out the previously released Sand colorway or Nike’s all-black Air Max 90 Winter Sneakerboot.
After getting a first glimpse at the “University Red” colorway a couple days back, Nike reveals the other two iterations that make up the Roshe Cortez “Suede” pack. The hybrid silhouette has also been given a vibrant “Deep Forest Green” and “Game Royal” color treatment along its suede upper, while utilizing a lush suede construction in favor of the usual leather upper. Rounding out the latest design is a contrasting Roshe NM midsole, one that has already amassed a legion of fans for its comfort and stability. Pick up your favorite colorway at select NSW accounts in the coming days.
