DOPE TRUCKS:

Kahn Flying Huntsman 6x6 Soft Top Truck
Having received wide acclaim for creating a slew of bespoke models such as its Land Rover Defender, Jeep Wrangler, Mercedes G Wagon, and numerous Range Rovers, Kahn Design has returned with a revamped iteration of its Land Rover Defender-based 6×6 Flying Hunstman.

While details of the project are still being released to the public, Kahn is hoping to deliver its latest 6×6 truck creation, that boasts a retractable soft-top, to Defender enthusiasts very soon. The teaser image depicts everything we’ve come to expect from one of the UK’s most avant-garde designers with the uncompromising 6×6 chassis dipped in tonal dark grey boasting contrasting orange accents on the rims, logo and soft-top. Stay tuned for further details that are due to surface in the coming weeks.

Elon Musk Tesla Pickup Model Y Ford F-150 Details Tease
Having revealed renders of a Tesla Pickup earlier this year, Elon Musk has now announced that the truck could be entering development in the coming years. Responding to a question on Twitter, Musk announced that he is “dying to build it” and has “had the core/design elements in my mind for almost 5 years.” Musk also promised that Tesla will work on the truck “right after Model Y,” the crossover car rumored to have a 2019 release.

In another Twitter post, Musk teased more details about the truck. He described it as “similar total size” to Ford’s F-150 model, although that may change: “Maybe slightly bigger to account for a really gamechanging (I think) feature I’d like to add.”

Firm details about the truck — and when it will enter development — are still scarce, so keep checking back for more news. In other automotive news, Aston Martin has been forced to recall more than 5,000 vehicles.

Hennessey Performance Engineering unveils its newest take on the Ford SVT Raptor with its souped-up VelociRaptor 6×6. Spawning its epithet from the dinosaur of the same name, the original Raptor, released late 2009, was Ford‘s speed-driven off-roading answer to the F-150. Mass appeal was found in the truck, eventually leading to Hennessey elaborating on this version with its high-performance Hennessey VelociRaptor SUV.

On six wheels, the Hennesey custom is a monstrous creation that can reach 0-60 mph in 4.9 seconds. The twin-turbo, 3.5-liter V6 can deliver 602 horsepower and 622 pound-feet of torque, a dwarfing metric to Ford’s premium stock Raptor. With its third additional axle, upgraded suspension and off-road tires, the vehicle, as stated by HPE owner John Hennessey, is “pure aggression on wheels.”

Only 50 of these off-roading beasts will be made, and you can get yours for the price of $349,000 USD. For more car news, Ford plans to sell cars in cat-shaped vending machines.

In a recent New York auction, a 1990 Lamborghini LM/American sold for $467,000 USD. Dubbed the “Rambo Lambo,” the LM002 model is one of 301 produced between 1986 and 1993 — of these, only 48 were built to the actual LM/A specifications making it a true collectible. The “Rambo Lambo” is the first SUV ever created by Lamborghini based on an abandoned U.S. military prototype named Cheetah. At the time of conception, the MSRP was nearly $300,000 USD — that’s twice the price of the upcoming 2019 URUS, another Lambo SUV.
The exotic car boasts a 76-gallon fuel tank, Pirelli Scorpion tires, a very rare rear cargo box, tonneau cover, LM/A floor mats, and chrome bumpers. The 4×4 has received an extensive five-year restoration effort valued at $325,000 USD. This included the application of a new exhaust and a modernized interior fitted with an Alpine stereo head unit and integrated Bluetooth. Despite being over 27 years old, the odometer reads only 19,153 miles. Moreover, the owner received a photographic documentation of the restoration effort and two OEM ECU computer units.
RM Sotheby‘s notes the LM002 is popular with Middle Eastern royalty and celebrities. It was produced “thanks to a new generation of millionaires and billionaires seeking the ever-greater toy.” If you want to make a comparison watch this video of the new Lamborghini Urus in action.
